It's a lot easier if you were in great shape, in your youth. I benched 200 kg s at age 38..Been lifting since I was 17 but never been able to handle that kind of weight... Then at 38 I took 4 reps with 180 kg. And later the 200 kg s... Someone like Foreman was strong in his prime, in his 40 s nobody could budge him..

GGG is just a strong man anyway he looks in pretty good shape and his output is still better than many fighters younger than him. We've seen in the last few decades a few like Hopkins and Foreman go for longer. I think GGG with his style and amount of Am. fights he had beforehand is pretty impressive. Yeah he's slowed down some but faher time catches up with everyone. He would still spank the Op. when he's 60 so it's a moot point.

I'm actually very proud of GGG

Even though he's a 40 y/o care home patient, wooden legged and even slower and borderline shot he's obviously worked tirelessly in the gym on trying to compensate for that by improving his slow-fast speed

That’s a myth, you’re strength peaks at around 30, you don’t get stronger at 35 onwards unless you haven’t worked out before

true and especially explosiveness which is most important in boxing. Most older men have good grips and strong arms if they worked hard all before in their teens, 20s, 30s. But there backs and legs are usually gone. Through Much wear and tear.

Foreman even a few years ago would probably have knocked out alot of opponents if they stood Infront of him. Lol.

Old GGG would have to go balls to the wall and take serious risks to have any chance of stopping Canelo. But Canelo is too smart and tough for that anyway, too experienced now and getting better.

I think he will gain a lot moving to 175lbs, including strength.
Bloke should have been there 5+ years ago.

GGG would have a new vigor at 175 like BHOP, could add years to his career and improve his legacy.

168 isnt much of a jump, needs the extra weight as to not drain to a corpse again

He isn’t getting stronger at 40 unless he started blasting AAS. Strength just depreciates the slowest out of all the other physical attributes.

"Power is the last thing to go" is a boxing adage for a reason.

If her son is any indication, Mama Golovkin must hit like a bag of bricks.
