"WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin is ready to fight Andre Ward, the ruler at 168-pounds - but only if they meet halfway at a catch-weight of 164-pounds.

Ward has not weighed any lower than 166 since 2006 and won't be able, under any circumstances, to get down to 164. Last month, Ward returned for the first time since November 2013 and stopped Paul Smith in nine rounds. That fight took place 172-pounds."

Wow so a lot of people on here saying that GGG is ducking/scared of Ward, well the bout look's even more likely with both camps wanting the fight. Hopefully Ward can agree to 164.

Doubt Ward agrees to 164. It's probably just negotiating on the part of Team GGG.

I hate catchweights. 168 or no fight. Maybe stick in a hydration clause of 175 lb maximum for Ward on fight night.

I think they'll make it happen. Seems like both sides want it at a reasonable deal.

GGG is worried about Ward's size. As he should be.

Well Ward had Dawson come down to 168, so it's only fair

Nothing wrong with that its very fair he could easily ask him to come to 160 for the fight at least he gave him 4 pounds

    This is very old news.

K2 has already gotten GGG to sign 3 contracts for this.
2 of which are above 166 and all of which allow ward to come in at his most comfortable WEIGHT of 180

Lemieux, Quillin, Lee and Canelo are bums? Ward is a lightheavy weight, GGG comes in at 158, he is a decent sized middleweight.

    yea right,

you are scared ggg gets exposed. lol

its only ONE weight class. ONE

he woudnt be the 1st or only boxer to move up .

Every great fighter has done it when there are no challenges at his weight division.

Canelo has never fought at 160 ...

Ward could come down to 164. He dragged Dawson down himself.

So your boy Ward can dish it out, but can't take it.

Ward is a light heavy weight, Golovkin barely made it to 158 his last fights, Ward has a significant size advantage, since he is after all a light heavy weight pretending to be a Super Middleweight :deal The size differences are too big. How would losing to Ward, who is larger than GGG and is skilled, expose GGG? It will only prove that it takes a Light heavyweight to defeat a 158 pound middle weight king :deal

When skill is equal, the size difference will be the tie breaker. :good

Ward is as skilled as GGG, but is much larger, hence GGG will be at a disadvantage :deal

Canelo has fought his last few fights at middleweight and comes in the ring over 170lbs.
Ward hasn't moved up either, and instead fights a total noboby at a catchweight and he supposedly cleaned out a division. Why can't Ward immediately move up and fight Kovalev? ggg at keast has legit ppv stars in his division... Ward has none. NONE.
