Hopkins has a NO CONTEST in one of his fights as champion, when he was knocked out of the ring by the ref, and said he wanted to stop. A no contest is not a title defense, so GGG has already tied him.

How many is he at if you dont count the regular title defences? Somewhere around 16 or 17 I would think.

Realistically... its possible he could break Hopkins record even without counting those regular defences.

Though with Canelo, Jacobs, Saunders, Charlo and SD now all just waiting to get their hands on G I wouldnt count on him breaking the record.

The next year n a half will be very exciting times for the middleweight division.

107-8. Golovkin was dodged by Froch, Sturm and Chavez. Greb was dodged by ****ing Jack Dempsey.

He NEEDS to add another 3 top names(Alvarez 2 TKO, BJS, and Charlo would get him right there, but another 2/3 Vanes Spike types and he's the GOAT
If he had 7 more fights, adding a top name and a title would put him in p4p discussion, especially if retiring undefeated

Bhop beats ggg the same way he’d beat hagler which is any way he wants that given night.

Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world today, but some here all hate Eastern European fighters and it shows. That bias also shows in the 10 rounds to 2 by Byrd, the Draw, when Golovkin beat El Pollo even when El Pollo was most likely on PEDS! El Pollo ran like a chicken.....................not a rooster, but a hen!

8 defenses since he beat Geale for the full title. The WBA didn't sanction the Brook fight.
    4 IBF defenses
    4 WBC defences

    # of World Champs beaten?

I honestly can't see how you can count the regular title defences. I mean, Murata is the current WBA regular champion I for one wouldn't even dare suggest Murata is the real champion and that his belt is worth anything other than another sanctioning fee to the WBA.

You could say GGG is setting the record for the most defences including 2nd tier belts but Hopkins still holds the record for most "true" world title defences.

If you disagree, I assume you think Dillian Whyte is a world champion as he holds the WBC equivalent with the WBC silver world heavyweight title. Nobody really sees him as a world champion just like nobody really sees Murata as a world champion or Manuel Charr as a genuine world champion. Golovkin wasn't either when he only held the WBA regular belt, you can't just change things to suit your opinion and be taken seriously.
