Cant become a great fighter at a weight where nobody who adds weight to your legacy has the ***** to fight you.

And as for the TS, you must be out of your mind. Do you have any idea about the great MW's in the history of this sport?

The MW division has been extremely weak for almost 30 years now aside from a brief stint in the 90's with fighters like Jones and Toney in that weight class. Even during Hopkins' lengthy reign, the talent pool was diluted at best

There's no way GGG will ever bypass guys like Stanley Ketchel, Harry Greb, Marvelous Hagler, Ray Robinson , Mickey walker or Carlos Monzon.

A lot of angry people in this thread

Golovkin plans to fight for 7 more years, 4 times a year.

Btw, when you mention Ward it's a giveaway for a Golovkin hater. Anyone who knows about the sport knows Ward can't fight right now, and he has no reason to move up to fight him anyway, it's not a PPV fight.

Beyond that, mentions of Canelo and Cotto boosting his legacy are silly too. These guys aren't even good middleweights, it's more about the lineal title and unification. People get confused with popularity and quality, they're two different things. Legacy isn't built on beating big names, it's built on beating good fighters.

Your joking right? KT had one of the most decorated AM careers in the modern era

The comparison is very close, although GGG still has some work to do before reaching KT heights :D

I don't think the level of power is the same. Guys were going 10 rounds with Tszyu even before Phillips. No one has gone a full 10 rounds with Golovkin, never mind 12.

The one guy who almost did, ended up in hospital and didn't fight for 2-3 years and he was notoriously durable.

Legacy wise that is true, but sheer talent wise, Golovkin is a better fighter than Hagler.

Ay the Ward thing is a copout both Ward and Gossen (rip) said regardless of business issues if GGG wanted to fight all that could be put to the side.

My thing is this I actually find GGG very entertaining but like you said Legacy is built on beating good names nobody on GGG's resume is really a good name. Geale is decent he actually won a title before (not that IBO bs) but that's really is everybody else he's fought hasn't done a thing and is best known for losing to good fighters.

the two divisions around GGG where there are a lot of prime fighters coming up is 154/68 which is why people want to see him actually do something constructive criticism isn't hating it's really only 3, 4 guys between 154-68 I'd pick to beat GGG but you gotta fight the fights. Currently GGG is no different than any other hyped puncher most eventually get exposed to a degree.

Judging natural talent, you don't compare resumes, you compare the fighters.

Zab Judah a natural talent, but there are lesser fighters out there with better records.

Ever? He hasn't fought the best. A bit of a double standard, right boxing_master?

You always say Pac is the best because he fought the best and moved 8 divisions. Well Golovkin has fought mediocre opposition and only fought in 1 division.

And top 5 all time? Lol you're riding the hype train.

It's built on beating good fighters. In Golovkin's position what he does is keep fighting the #1 contender, seven years of that should leave him in a good place legacy-wise.

Incidentally I wouldn't pick anyone from 154-160 to beat him. Size beats him at 168.
