I disagree. You can get an idea looking at a fighter but can never really be sure until that fighter gets in with another dangerous fighter. Using your logic we should just compare Hagler to GGG using the second tier fighters he fought instead of the best. That makes no sense and why resume is so important in rating fighters.

I don't know if you watch other sports, but there are some sportsmen who are visible natural talents and some who are less talented but work hard and achieve more. Boxing is no different.

Agreed. But there are some who look great but can never transition to greatness. I think GGG is awesome, but he just doesnt have the body of work to compare to Hagler. If and when he does get those fights i hope he proves he is a true great. Until then though i think its over the top to mention him in the same breath. Jmo.

Obviously there's no question he doesn't and just to add, it wasn't me who said he was more talented than Hagler.

Funny thing is I think Monzon was arguably more naturally talented than Golovkin but if they fought prime versions of one another, I'm not convinced he takes Golovkin's power. One thing we do know about Golovkin is that power is real, he has KO'd durable fighters early.

It depends the Title ranking are really a joke he needs to fight top 5 fighters.
Just based off the current top 10 JMW/MW I'd pick Canelo and Andrade to beat GGG

A slick boxer is going to be Golovkin's Kryptonite. It's no mystery why they want no parts of Lara or Ward...

I agree he needs to fight top 5 fighters ranked by The Ring or the transitional boxing rankings and not paper ABC ranked fighters. I disagree about Andrade though, and we grew up in the same home town. He just doesnt have the experience at this point. Maybe down the road, but not yet.

Reverse this, Golovkin IS the answer to slick boxing. Show me any ten second span of GGG getting troubled by anything slick, he blows that sh it up.

He's fought nothing but BUMs, STIFFs, TOMATO CANs, No Hopers and NEVER WEREs. Wake me when he fights someone with a pulse...

I disagree. Ward maybe but Golovkin demolishes Lara.

That's too harsh. There's not really any competition for him at middleweight though. His best fight is Cotto and that's sad and says everything about the current state of middleweight.

He needs to hurry up and unify and move up already.

Well, Golovkin's people did their best Hellen Keller impersonation when Lara called them out.

    I wonder why...

He got potential. But what I read here about a lot of fighters it seems that a lot of people get confused between potential and achievement.
