Funny how the competition gets poorer when pro boxing becomes more global... A linear correlation. No, i don't think so.

At the moment boxing is getting more heavily trained and talented individuals than ever. The difference is that its not americans who rule the sport. Rigo, loma, wlad, kovalev, golovkin (and so on..) are elite but in the 70s and 80s they would not have been given the opportunity.

the level gets poorer when the hw champion gets detoryed in seconds by a retired failure from the previous stronger era, and then runs in gibbering fear from avenging his loss.

as for GGG, seems like a decent champ but that's about it so far, hes 33(?) and has had two good opponents...hes set the bar low himself, nothing to do with the level around him.

I never mentioned Leonard or Duran, i said Hagler would have dismantled Golovkin.

Whats the difference between predicting the outcome of a hypothetical fight between a past and present fighter, or two present day fighters who've never shared the ring ?

You are making your constant Golovkin win predictions based on what ?

You are sure that Golovkin will KO Murray based on what ?

Either its what you have seen of both, or you are just dribbling on about Golovkin being unbeatable because you have no idea what you are talking about.

    Which is it ?

The reason people want to see GGG challenged against another great fighter, is because it's quite obvious pretty much every opponent GGG has fought shelled up after taking his shots, back up and fought scared.

Not a single one of them would be stupid enough to try to trade or go toe to toe with him, because they wouldn't last 1 minute. If he fought someone like James Toney there is no way in hell he would win a trade, his pressure/combination punching style would be constantly slipped and countered, and when he lands guys like Toney won't fold.

So what people want to see is what happens to Golovkin in that kind of situation, they want to see him challenged, adapt, bring a new element we haven't seen before. As of right now we haven't even seen the best what Golovkin can do, because no opponent he has fought is capable of pushing him to his limits.

Also Toney started boxing at a late age with way less experience entering the pro ranks on top of being extremely lazy, and stopping road work altogether whilst ballooning to heavyweight and still winning fights. Do you think GGG could replicate it? So don't bother bringing up how he struggled with cab drivers and so forth, Golovkin does not have the natural talent to pull off Toney's career the way Toney did. GGG trains like a machine to be the fighter he is now.

There is NO POSSIBLE way that you have seen any Hagler fights pre Duran in 1983. If you had you simply couldn't write such S.h.i.t.

Up until that time he'd had 61 fights, Drawn one Lost 2 on points, and avenged both with 2nd round stoppages.

But the worst part is you are actually trying to claim that out of those 50+ opponents NONE were skilled boxers.

I can tell you for certain Kevin Finnegan was exactly that, which was why out of his 35 wins his KO% is so low. He simply didn't have the power to back up his skills. He is only one that I knew personally.

I don't think it is necessary to start watching old tapes to see Hagler being able to handle slick boxers, as well as brawlers in his long career.

Stop contradicting yourself and answer the question !

If i were you i'd refrain from posting anymore nonsense about Golovkin.

Its as clear as glass that you are nothing more than another Golovkin fanboy.

Nice FACTS! Toney also got hit much more in those fights than Golovkin does yet Toney is labeled a defensive genius.:patsch People just cannot overcome their brainwashing. In fairness: It's not like they are actually trying.

Put this in perspective, if Golovkin was black or the OP did not like him personally, he'd be talking about how he hasn't fought anybody etc. etc. But since he's neither of those, he's on the cusp of greatness. OP thinks Mayweather is a cherry pick and Golovkin is on the cusp of greatness. What a world.

everything else I agree with you on which kills me. trip G is far and away the greatest in all of boxing. he would destroy anyone from 154 (or as low as he possibly can go, doesn't matter if he was 50%) still ruin everyone. so as low as he can go to 175, yes the lhw and even most smw would tower over him and have dozens of lbs on him BUT that doesn't matter.

only time the size matters is when you have 2 equally skilled fighters, with everything being close to equal. then size would be a deciding factor but, when you are so many levels above everyone else it wont matter.

that FACT you laid out about never being knocked down is FALSE. he had been dropped by a body shot in sparring once. I forget who it was but trip G beat the hell out of him the rest of the camp. probably didn't let up because of the KD

KD's a lot of the time doesn't mean sh!t.. lots of KD's between true elite fighters are often times balance shots

Actually the exact opposite occurs far more often but thanks for sharing your scripted default setting with us just the same. :-(
