Jackson was a bit faster, and this gave his opponents less time to prepare for the punch. As they say the punch that can hurt you is the one you don't see.

In terms of force generated when landed, I think Golovkin might hit a little harder.

    This completely.
It's an important thing to consider that Julian Jackson was 30-1 by the time he fought Baek for the world title, having been knocked out by McCallum earlier.
Look at Julian Jackson's opponents that gave him that 30-1 record in the first place and try to tell me that Jackson's oppponents were better than Golovkin's. It's no contest.

Golovkin is yet to fight real champions however.

As Bernard Hopkins recently pointed out, no one wants to admit that a guy from sparring hit hard. The thing with Golovkin is that everyone says they've never been hit with so much power having sparred with the top heavyweights. I know its just sparring but shall we shun ALL of the people who commented on Golovkin's power?
Golovkin is a clubber who can knock you out with one punch if he wanted to, but since he prefers to fight with skill and outpoint you in ways that Julian Jackson never could if he tried, Golovkin would thus prefer to club the **** out of you and be lower risk (something Jackson wasn't as he got KTFO all over the place), in order to win.

I agree with everything you've written in that post.

Jackson did not get "KTFO all over the place." In fact, until he had 2 detached retinas and was in his mid 30s, his only stoppage loss was a TKO while on his feet to Hall of Fame fighter, Mike McCallum.

Almost everybody who ever watched Jackson fight was awed by his one punch power. Golovkin still has the time to show he is in that class. But, he hasn't done so yet. In fact, at this point, he hasn't shown any more devastating power than say Arthur Abraham when he was at middleweight.

I would love to see Golovkin prove me wrong and breathe more life into the middleweight division. But, it is still premature for these type of comparisons.

LMAO @ Jackson getting KO'd all over the place. Some people say the dumbest ****, I swear.

Jackson lost ONCE in his prime, to McCallum, arguably the best junior middleweight of all time.

By time G-man KO'd him in 93, he was on the decline, and basically only had one good eye.

He was basically finished as a top fighter after G-man KO'd him, but he was already past his prime by that point.

KO'd all over the place? You sound like an idiot.

GGG doesn't hit as hard as Nigel Benn, let alone Julian Jackson.
