Considering the circumstances, it was the most Tom could have done. Going against GBP/Canelo is also going against TV networks/corrupt doping agencies/boxing councils/cartel investors/bankers

All of whom have significant vested interests in the GBP juggernaut.

 

Yeah I meant helped to make GGG successful, both in and out the ring. Of course GGG had to do all the work in the ring but he isn’t really a talker so getting HBO to build a hype train was a good move for him financially

 

I still think if GGG had gone for undisputed he could of not only forced Canelo into fighting him with better terms also got a legacy defining achievement which win lose or draw he would be one of the rare undisputed of this era.

 

He could also have got beaten by BJS and thrown away a massive payday, what a disaster that would have been. He probably done the right thing.

 

I think GGG punches to hard for BJS to beat him, BJS would have got the better of him in those early rounds but I think GGG would have caught up to him

 

Fair enough. I would favour GGG over BJS but the risk/reward wouldn’t have been worth it with the Canelo fight there ready to be had.

 

Yeah but look at how the Canelo fight stalled his activity right down to a halt. I’m not saying it was no brainer but I think he could of got the fight plus become undisputed because he had the MW division cornered and let’s fsce Canelo had no where to go in terms of money after Chavez jr

 

Good to hear maybe now Ganeddy will finally get some fights in
