This is actually true. Froch used to rehydrate around 10lbs and used to be in the ring at around 175lbs-180lbs maximum.

Jacobs I think is larger than Froch and walks into the ring at 180+.

Kinda dumb how and why he killed himself for all those years at 160lbs

He and Ward were not in the same weight division so don't even go there. He would have KO'd Joe.

I don't disagree with you. Hagler and Hearns were two standouts. However, I think GGG stops Hearns. Not so sure about Hagler because Hagler had incredible stamina. Hagler-GGG would have been an incredible fight.

Well we are talking about 165lbs which is closer to Ward/Calzaghe's weight than GGG's.

Personally I don't think Calzaghe loses a round to Golovkin but there we go.

The difference between the very good fighters and the truly great ones is the ability to adapt, which Calzaghe, Ward, Mayweather etc all showed during their careers. GGG is very one-dimensional and I don't think that bodes well for him vs elite calibre fighters.

Just don't see a 5 10 fighter who isn't even a big middle giving Froch any real trouble.

Is Golovkin faster than Taylor ? No.

Does he hit harder than Kessler ? No.

Strip away the hype and Golovkin hasn't comprehensively beat someone at Froch's level.

Golovkin gets speared by the jab and pasted by the right hand.

The technical jabbing battle wont work on Froch who his taller and holds a 5 inch advantage in reach.

Froch almost shut Kessler completely out with the jab in the rematch.

Froch would be dead at 165lbs, 3lbs doesn't seem a lot but when you are already de-hydrated to the maximum it will have some input!

Hard to pick a winner as there's too many unknowns.

Can GGG hurt Froch? Maybe and even if he could can he keep him down? We all know Froch has a truly epic chin and even if you have the power to hurt him can you keep him down, the man has a ferocious will to win, we've seen him fight big punchers and eat shots like candy and walk through it all, even taking power punches in combination and not go down and fire back while getting tee'd off on. I have doubts that Golovkin can stop Froch, Canelo took some huge shots off of GGG, his power isn't infallible. But then maybe GGG hits harder than Kessler, Groves, Abraham, Taylor etc. I'm not so sure of that but then who really knows.

Then on the flip side, how does GGG's iron chin handle Froch's power? Does GGG walk through everything Froch throws? Maybe but I don't think GGG has ever fought anyone as heavy handed as Froch. Canelo has solid power but isn't really on Froch's level in terms of power. Would GGG's chin suddenly look less solid vs a bigger man? But then if Froch can't hurt GGG can he outbox him or beat him in a battle of attrition, that is if GGG is willing to go to war with Froch?

How does GGG look at the higher weight? Some fighters have the right style or physical attributes to move up with ease while others struggle. Does Golovkin have the frame to cope with bigger opponents? Does he have a style to take away a bigger mans strengths? Or is his come forward style going to be squashed when he's physically over matched? Sure he beat Jacobs who's bigger than Froch if we go by fight night weights but lets be honest GGG didn't look good in that fight. Canelo too showed an opponent who could stand and trade with him could make him look bad. Can GGG push he bigger Froch back if Froch decides to walk him down or can he out box Froch from range if he finds his usual style no longer works against an opponent who can walk through everything he throws?

If I'm forced to pick a winner, I lean slightly towards Froch, but I'm not confident of that pick as neither man has faced an opponent quite like the other, as I say too many unknowns. But what I do know is, when Froch has struggled he's been out boxed not out fought and we've seen a fighter stand toe to toe with GGG in the Canelo fights and come out on top in the exchanges. That along with the size difference is what tips the scales in the favour of Froch to me.

I think Froch is being underestimated here.
He was a big tough guy with underrated skills who when there was a big challenge in front of him produced the goods.
I love GGG but as his opposition got tougher suddenly opponents weren’t falling over, Martin Murray took him 11 rounds and Froch is a bigger, tougher more rounded fighter than Murray.
I think this is very close, at 165 I just give GGG the edge against a possibly drained Froch, but if GGG was stepping up to take the 168 title I’d favour Froch.

Calzaghe's a fav of mine, he 1000% loses rounds to some one like GGG, its a tight fight that Joe wins on work rate, just !
