I don't particularly like Frank W or Eddie Hearn, but I'm with them 100% on this.

Eddie wouldn't have needed a cover story for GG-Brook. If that's the fight he'd have wanted from the outset, that's the fight he'd have made. We're talking about a guy who put Joshua-Martin on PPV. He doesn't need to play games.

What confirmed it was the truth for me, was when Eubank Snr's reputation was shredded in public, yet FIVE WEEKS later, he still hadn't responded. That was no gagging order or anything. This is a guy who's ego is bigger than the county he lives in, requesting that people refer to him as 'English' etc. It seems abundantly clear to me that he just got carried away. If Eddie had told any untruths, Snr would have responded on social media within the hour.

Eddie spoke of the following demands:

He wanted to double the ticket prices.

He wanted to double the PPV.

He wanted Barry McGuigan to commentate.

    Why would he have lied?

Again, both Snr and Jnr would have jumped on him.

Snr finally responded just a few weeks ago by declaring: "we both made mistakes"

He knows he was in the wrong.

Although Jnr is a grown man, I do feel for him. I believe him 100% when he says he never saw the contract. He never saw it, because Snr never showed it to him because he wasn't happy with it.

They're now both in a predicament. Frank W wants nothing to do with them and they're going to have to build bridges with Eddie and Matchroom.

Hopefully we can still see the GG fight at some point. I believe that Matchroom and K2 have a good relationship, and I definitely think they'll work together again at some point in the near future.

Fukk Eubank. He had a perfectly good contract to sign and he threw it away. No pen and daddy issues. Thing is he isnt even that good.

Thats old news and isn't what this thread is about.
    Why would Hearn lie?
When does he tell the truth is a better question. He convinced the whole nation that Brook was going to beat Golovkin ffs.
The day i believe Hearn and FW is the day i lose my marbles.

Just because Senior made no defence of himself , doesn't mean everything Hearn said is correct. The reason Jr vs Langford fell through is because FW found Senior's estranged son and added him to the bill out of spite. FW is one of the most bitter and vengeful men in boxing. That was a lowly act. Much worse than anything Senior is responsible for. He put his bitterness before professionalism and he deserves full culpability for the card falling through. Senior hasn't addressed any of this , yet its still true. Senior is a man who doesn't want public squabbles.
I wasn't convinced by any party in all this.
But since team GGG has claimed to want no part of Eubank EVER - that sheds a whole new light on the situation. If they are so adamant now about never facing Eubank , then you have to believe they weren't serious back then either and were only using CEJ as a scape goat to fight Brook.

But this is all history as far as im concerned . The real issue is Golovkns team admitting their refusal to face Eubank in the future.
No case can be made to justify that claim for anything other than what it is. A shameless quack job. :tiburon:

Now Bumkin doesn't want to sign. Brook uppercutted the confidence clean outta him and his entire team. :chuck::rambo1:

Hypothetically, if he came out and said Golovkin is impossible to work with and he never wants to do business with them, how would it be received by the fans? Given current context I'm assuming it'd be called a duck. But digging deeper, would it be much different? I suppose it depends on how you look at it; neither man can get the other to agree to their terms, "right" or "wrong" (I quote because we don't dictate that).

    dinovelvet,

    Ha!

    That made me laugh.

On a serious note, it's his job as a promoter to hype his event and his fighter. That's understandable. But there's a world of difference between doing that and then listing Eubank's list of demands.

You're entitled to your opinion mate.

I'm now 36 years old, (not mentally) and I've been watching Snr since I was 11. I don't need to know him personally to get a handle on him. I've seen numerous interviews throughout the years, and I've read hundreds of articles etc. He's a very outspoken, egomaniac. If we were to list his exploits, we'd both be up until the early hours of the morning. We know the comments he's made. We know how he conducts himself. I've watched his behaviour for 25 years. He's always on social media etc. In the past 12 months, I've seen him request to be addressed as 'English' and I've seen him climb into the ring in-between the rounds, just to posture, without even acknowledging Jnr in the corner. Just last week we've heard their comments regarding not owning towels etc. Again, you're entitled to your opinion, but if what Eddie had said wasn't true, Snr would have jumped on him within an hour. His silence spoke volumes. There's simply no other way to see it. Jnr is also outspoken. Yet neither of them said anything. It would never have happened mate. Snr would have been all over social media and on the news, probably threatening lawsuits etc. Again, the final confirmation was a few weeks ago when he actually admitted to making mistakes.

Trust me, a guy like that does not remain quiet for over a month and then admit to handling things wrong if there's nothing in it. It's not in his make up. Eddie didn't just criticise him, he tarnished his reputation. He was ridiculed. Personally, I don't see why you wouldn't believe it. He wants the best for his son, he got carried away, but now he's held his hands up. Also, once again, Eddie wouldn't have needed to use the Eubank's as a ploy to get the U.K. fans onside to accept a Brook fight. He doesn't operate like that.

Regarding his fall out with Frank, I don't know anything regarding his son. But I know that Frank was extremely pi$$ed when he repeatedly missed press conferences. He also missed at least one for the BJS fight. Frank says he'll now only deal directly with Ronnie Davies.

From what I've read, they actually signed to fight Eubank and handed the contract in. They're going to feel aggrieved, especially as both Snr and Jnr are making noise again. We'll have to wait and see what transpires with Eddie and Matchroom. I don't know whether Eddie will work with them again. I'm not sure how many fights he's got remaining on his contract.

Again, they're pi$$ed. In my opinion, it's perfectly understandable. They also have bigger fish to fry at the moment. We don't know what the next step is for the Eubank's, but GG is going to target Canelo, BJS and Canelo, which all take precedence. But if the Eubank's can build bridges with Matchroom, I don't think it's completely dead in the water. As you know, things get said in the heat of the moment.

    Okay, I understand your point.

It would obviously depend on the circumstances.

Regarding your hypothetical scenario, it's actually K2 who have been messed around. After Canelo beat Cotto, Oscar wanted a voluntary against Khan. It was granted. Then they were supposed to be having negotiations afterwards. Yet Oscar went straight to the Smith camp and only contacted K2 after the fight had been finalised. Oscar then asked for the fight to be made next year, and he wasn't willing to put anything in writing. Apparently, now he has. So we'll have to wait and see what happens. But as it stands, they've no grounds to say they can't deal with K2. The circumstances surrounding the Eubank fight were vastly different.

They have no cause to be pi$$ed. Why would they? They got a career high pause against a Welter weight out of it. Its not like they lost months/years of wasted negations with Eubanks. This whole thing began and ended in a week.
And like i said earlier , team GGG had no exposure with them. They dealt only with Hearn, so their excuses are weak and invalid.
Lets say GGG has bigger fish to fry
Canelo? Isn't happening till the end of 2017 at the very least , if not 2018
BJS? All talk. He wants none of it.
Jacobs? Network disputes may prevent that from happening.

Its unlikely any of them fave GGG next , so who has he got? Nobody. And if BJS does fight him , who is there after that? GGG wants to fight 3 times a year. There is no one else out there.

Did you actually read the article ? Google - Golovkins manager rips Eubanks.

Eubank is not on our list they said. I was shocked when i read it. There's no defending this. Especially when they have been mugged around far worse by Canelo and Hoya.

Eubank is/was British DOMESTIC MW title holder. British title ffs! Of course he's on nobody's list. He's a nobody!
