If Barker and Macklin got a shot, Golovkin definitely deserves one too.

    Let's get this fight signed.

He'll get it when Sturm either fights him (GGG) or vacates. Might be too late, but I don't see it appealing to DiBella otherwise.

Barker and Macklin didn't held a belt. Why not Golovkin who is the regular WBA MW Champion? Sturm is WBA Super Champion.

Or is this the reason why Sergio want none of Golovkin:

They were lower risk, slightly lower rewards in terms of HBO money. Lower risk is the take-away here.

You mean he would beat Golovkin more decisively than Barker and Macklin?

Cant see it, mate. I think Golovkin is a nightmare for anyone in the division.

    Martinez/Golovkin = toss-up

Ps. I'd favor Golovkin to win. Possibly by stoppage.

Cant blame Sergio targeting Chavez instead though. Much more profit.

But Golovkin earned a shot against Martinez more than Barker and Macklin added together.

I doubt being trinketless made them lower reward money-wise, especially Macklin. HBO has never rewarded guys more simply for holding belts, especially non-English speakers who have never been on TV.

Why? Just because he held one of the three WBA belts? It's not like Golovkin's resume is particularly strong and aside from that devalued trinket I have no idea what he'd bring to any promotion.

I think Martinez would beat Golovkin because is more skilful ; is more athletic ; has better experience etc .

Why Golovkin don't demand a fight against Pirog / Geale / Macklin ? He should call out one of these guys , set up a fight , win the fight and then demand a fight against Maravilla , imo :yep

He should try to build a better resume , because only in this way could get known and bring something to the table .

HBO would never sign off on this

Any way Golovkin has great ability just hasnt really beaten any one yet

but middle is a young weight with guys like him or are young and dangerous looking for shots

I think Golovkin can cause Martinez many issues even win but Martinez is on a very good roll despite not looking great in his last 2
