i think Martinez would be too quick for Golovkin....but he's getting up there in age to be wasting his talent in Germany and not trying to get mainstream exposure.

Golovkin had over 200 amatuer fights winning a World Championship and only lost a few of the 200,defeated the likes of Bute,Dirrel,Ward and Korborov as an amature also since turning Pro he has had 22 Fights 22 Wins and 19 TKOs thats the reason why he can not get any fights against Top opponents they Fear him Big Time.

He has real Class and enormous power in both hands and in His 200 or so Amature bouts he has never been knocked out so he has a good chin also, bring it on I say who out there has the Courage to step up and fight this Man,so far they are running like frigthened Girls, some one has to man up shortly and sign on the dotted line, hope it's Martinez.!!!!

I did not know Golovkin beat Ward in the amateurs. Do you have any info on that bout? I though Ward was unbeaten since he was like 16 or something.

Dirrell, Bute, Korobov weren't too athletic or fast for him and the first two are 4 inches taller than Sergio, Golovkin is an inch taller than Martinez. No, Martinez is not more skillful, quicker that's it.

Gena and Ward never fought, guys wrong.

Sorry He did not beat Ward,I meant Andy Lee.!!!!

Golovkin had a very successful amateur career, boasting victories over such notables as Lucian Bute, Andy Lee, Andre Dirrell and Matt Korobov on his way to becoming a two-time world champion and winning the Silver Medal in the 2004 Olympics. As a result of his success in the amateurs and now a professional world champion, he is very popular in the Russian speaking community

This is a dream fight for Mayweather fans... finally someone who actually has a godo chance at beating Sergio... and thus derailing him before too many people start asking for Floyd vs Sergio.

I don't like the fight at all.... because Golovkin might beat Sergio and Sergio should not be fighting at MW at all. He was lured there by Pavlik and since he has been stuck there because May is avoiding him.

And even if Sergio wins I wont like it because Golovkin is one of my favorite fighters.

Golovkin walks around at 161 virtually every JWM weighs more than him fight night. Martinez was 176 and 173 mid camp for the Williams II and Dzinziruk fights and is purposly keeping his weight down so he can claim he's too small to fight SMW's which he isn't, he'd just rather fight former featherweights.

Many fans do not know who Golovkin is, or who he beat in the Amatuers. I think he cleans up on Martinez.

    ( 2004 Athenes olympic Middle Weight (75kg) Final )

Gaydarbek Gaydarbekov - when he won that Olympic gold medal he had 27 years old , I wonder why he didn't try a professional career in boxing ?! He could have been a great champ imo, although I think he would have been an avoided fighter in his division like Golovkin :D . ( http://www.google.ro/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=Gaydarbek+Gaydarbekov+&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCgQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FGaydarbek_Gaydarbekov&ei=Io5xT7zMEI7EtAavv8HoDQ&usg=AFQjCNGXJzWLZhl44uZxL9CUBkjquDml7A&sig2=GvyB82_woqftuYdHPN2hXg)

As I said Golovkin should try to have some fights with guys like Geale, Macklin or Pirog and then call out Martinez , but again is hard to set some good fights at pro boxing level when you're a dangerous boxer-puncher.

Macklin would never take a fight with Golovkin. Coming off a loss and then going up against a hardhitter is too high risk low reward for Macklin. Same goes for Barker. Pirog doesn't need to fight Golovkin seeing as how he's already on his way to a title shot, same goes for Andy Lee. The only high profile fighter who i could see golovkin face is Martin Murray who is probably going to rematch sturm.

How the **** is Sturm able to duck Golovkin for so long. The WBA still letting him get away with this? How much longer?
