News alert. GGG never won the first fight no matter how many times you try and tell yourself that

Definitely not, LOL! In a situation where Alvarez has been caught cheating which gives good reasons to suspect that he was "on that meat" in the first fight as well β€” so now he needs a redemption, he needs to prove that he can beat GGG even without steroids... In a situation like this 5% is nothing.

Please dispute any of the excellent points that I made. Otherwise, go bang your alt (El Chicano).

Yeah he did and everybody knows it. The sporting contest was a draw and that i can not dispute but Golovkin won the fight. Im guessing a Mexican Boo means the same as an American boo or a British Boo. And they Bood that result, Canelo fans Booing the result, then cheering Golovkin and then Booing Canelo. They had nothing against thier own man they just made it clear what they thought of the result.

You can either fall prey to the corruption and just accept their cheating ways or you can try and read between the lines and allow your own eyes to watch the fight for yourself. Golovkin won and everybody knows it.

Canelo is under no obligation to be a good Samaritan and give GGG more than he's worth because he eat the radioactive meat and was responsible for the cancellation of the fight.
He paid the penalty by be being banned and losing a years earnings. As harsh as it may sound , he owes Golovkin nothing. He answers to the commission , not GGG and Tom Loeffler.

We're not in Sunday school here , we're in the real world were cutting million dollar deals means folk will stab you in the front instead of the back.

Golovkin can go with the original offer he signed off on , or he can hit the high road. Its entirely up to him.

@dinovelvet, he is, just because his fans want this fight, for example, because they feel a little bit ashamed as well, and they want to prove that their idol is the best boxer.
But, after all, at this point I think this fight will happen in September β€” GGG will vacate his IBF title and accept an improved offer (which should come soon) from Oscar.

The contract he has signed off on is the May contract. That contract does not state he is to sign a fight with a fighter that is currently banned, Canelo is currently banned. The contract is open to change because GBP have already changed it by changing the date and having a banned Boxer.

Its cool, Golovkin should walk away from this, beaten him once, nothing to prove. Canelo is the one that has things to prove but if they dont to pay for their failures and the breaking of the contract and their illegal activities then fair enough they can go their seperate ways.

I wonder if Canelo doesn't meet GGGs demands, or at least up their offer if GGG will file a civil suit against Canelo/GB for breach of contract.

If the fight isn't going to happen, might as well sue Canelo and get what he was supposed to have been paid for the May fight.

It's not unusual for fans to be booing the declaration of a draw. Most fans want to see a winner. As far as fans "booing Canelo" that was obviously coming from the small but vocal Golovkin section. We know this based on how both Canelo and Max Kellerman looked at a specific area where the boos were coming from. You had fans in general dissatisfied with the result, and the Golovkin fans in attendance started booing Canelo when he was being interviewed to make their voices heard about who they thought won. How that turned into "Canelo's own fans were booing him" is hysterical.

I allowed my own eyes to watch the fight for myself and I concluded that Canelo won rather impressively. But unlike you, I respect the other side who thought Golovkin won. I don't know what's so hard about saying "I think Golovkin won" rather than stating it like it's a fact and "everybody knows it". Everybody does not know that, and the reasons why the vast majority had Golovkin winning is 1) he never lost before and had an aura of invincibility to him and 2) he was pressing the action and throwing more punches whereas Canelo was taking his time, backpeddling occasionally and trying to set traps.

Those are the main two reasons why the vast majority of the press had Golovkin winning. It had a lot to do with expectations. For whatever reason, most people seemed to expect Golovkin to win, many of his fans predicterd a knockout, and even those who had him winning agreed Canelo surprised them and did better than they expected him to do.

Given all that, it shouldn't come as a shock why most press in attendance had Golovkin winning. Golovkin had a great poker face and though he was getting caught flush, he still kept coming forward and kept those hands moving. Comparing this fight to other fights that ended in a draw or "robberies" where the decision went the wrong way is laziness. Canelo vs Golovkin was unlike any other fight in history, it clearly produces heated debates online about who fans thought won. It's the sign of a healthy rivalry. Citing online polls or press opinions on who won does not prove anything ! We know that a good chunk of boxing fans severly underrate Canelo and complain about how judges score his fights. There's enough fans on this forum that recognize that this fight could go either way or that they could see a draw to where stating unequivocally that Golovkin won is silly and just comes off as biased and closed minded. If you want to have a debate about who won the fight, OK (been there done that) if you want to say you think Golovkin won, then go ahead, no one's stopping you, but don't insult everybody's intelligence by acting like it's the only way to see the fight. I am insulted when I hear people claim that Golovkin won and tbecuase I consider myself very fair, unbiased and intelligent and I concluded that Canelo won by several rounds. If you have a problem with that, then come at me, challenge my view of the fight on a round by round basis. Otherwise realize that your view of the fight is not the only view of the fight and other people who do not wear their fandom on their sleeves can and do see the fight as an impressive Canelo win where Golovkin was gifted a draw.

You're basing that # on the 100 something media members who were polled right after the fight. There are reasons why that happened and it had a lot do with expectations going into the fight, and how Canelo fought Golovkin. (off the back foot, etc) When you are watching the fight in an Arena, sometimes you don't have the best angles and can't see the punches up close like you can on HDTV. Many times when you are watching the fight in the arena, you just see fighters arms moving and you think the fighter who comes forward the most and throws the most punches wins. You really need to pay attention to the quality of the landed punches and the defense on display to judge the fight accurately.
