Cotto drained Geale to a zombie. Big deal.

I haven't been on this site for long but reading some of these threads is a strange experience for me. You have guys calling Canelo a chicken and a coward despite the fact he has fought closer matched fights against better boxers than Golovkin, and you have guys using names that would seem childish in a schoolyard like "GGGoons" and saying that GGG is a B level fighter who ducks his toughest opponents despite the fact he is fighting the widely regarded number one ranked Middleweight contender next month and has thus far destroyed everybody he has gotten into the ring with on his way to collecting all bar one of the major belts.

Surely you guys can see the truth lies somewhere in the middle? Canelo is no chicken and I think it seems clear that he is now keen on getting the GGG fight made, and anybody who thinks Golovkin is B-level at best as I have read here at times must have watched every one of his fights through hate tinted goggles.

This is a great fight between two guys I'd have top 10 p4p and the winner has a realistic chance of becoming undisputed middleweight king and also of cleaning out the division completely (for now at least and until some of these giant JMWs come up). How often does that happen in boxing? Forget the money (although FWIW I think GGG should take the 15 mill and make the fight), this is the sort of fantastic 50/50 fight that doesn't happen enough in boxing and that we as fans should all be crossing our fingers for rather than rubbishing or acting like we all have some personal stake in how the money is split.

good post. i agree with everything except the 50/50 part. i would put ggg as a 3 to 1 favorite over canelo.

    Good post.

For me it boils to something similar really. 15Mil is a good offer and I agree GGG's team should accept. But at the same time, they know which a percentage split they could probably make a lot more which is why GBP are offering that flat fee. Which is fine, it's nothing unusual. I do struggle to trust anything GBP and Canelo say given we had the 'not ready for 160' thing and now he's going to 164.5 but whatever, people will do what they think will make them the most money ultimately

Canelo says he fights for mexican pride. But is not willing to fight a live body above welterweight.

    Pot calling the kettle black?

Now GGG wants more than cotto?

Not once have I read anyone calling Golovkin a B level fighter.

    Perhaps you're confusing B-side with B-level.

    Other than that, good post.

I have a few times although probably about a year or so ago. This was something I used to say when people were arguing with Shockmaster a lot, like folk dig at his resume (quite correctly) often enough but no one ever says he is a lousy fighter which is often what fellow GGG fans like myself assume people are suggesting.

Except for one guy who picked Rubio to KO him.
