He will drop his IBF belt for a Canelo rematch on Mexico day. It will be a huge event and they'll both make a shitload of money. BJS gets sidelined. Golovkin's talk of unification was just that, talk. It's right at his ****ing feet. Vanes fight means nothing. If the IBF doesn't strip him, it's just greed.
Yup. It was a blatant duck, but what the hell. I usually take the boxer's side and nobody who has a competent manager is going to risk blowing a $20m fight on a $700,000 fight. Just...won't...happen.
It may make commercial sense and sense for his family and I can't hate him for making the right business move, but it doesn't change what it is and it will affect his legacy in my eyes. Smart business moves and smart legacy moves aren't always the same.
If the IBF knows what's good for them, they will let GGG keep the belt for his rematch with Canelo instead of getting their % off Derev vs Andrade. Everybody wants to get paid.
Selling out? I see a rematch with Canelo as revenge. There is even more spite between them now than there has ever been, Golovkin feels he was robbed in the 1st fight and that Canelo was cheating with his handwraps and PEDS. And he isnt guna make more against any other opponant. And i hope nobody is taking Saunders THAT serious, that will not be an easy fight to make regardless of what Saunders is saying via media.
Hahahaha 6 months is his regular time off between fights to cycle off the peds Its just a slap on the wrist nothing more I dont see the rematch happening in Sep though I think Canelo will fight Spike, they need to do a little brainwashing to the chicanos( works like a charm) just like they did after the fight was on the table and Canelo vacated like a b***** remember we got that Smith dude and the mexican " war "
The guy who made a name for himself claiming to be ducked by half of boxing is now the biggest ducker in boxing. Nobody forced him to fight May 5th but he refused to budge on that date so he could avoid his mando and justify his cherry pick. He could have easily fought Dchenko on June the 5th , but since this guy would be the second best opponent , if not the best opponent of his career , he is likely worried about taking a pasting since he barely beat Jacobs as it is. He's been held to a high standards now because of the lofty standards his hordes of fanboys held him to. Its GGG goal to unify all the belts .. Thats whats been parroted for years so he never had to move out of bum city. Well , he chose the money fight with Canelo over WBO Champ BJS. It looks like he will drop his IBF belt to take that money fight again with Canelo. GGG is all about the money and not about the legacy. . And thats fair enough , nothing wrong with it , but when the ATG discussion come up , he'll have compromised his status as an all time great. H will probably go down no greater than Arthur Abraham when its all said and done.
How is SD a legacy-defining fight? The IBF is now vacant, so if SD grabs it, and he beats Clenelo in September, the opportunity is still there. Plus BJS has the WBO.
