I feel like he needs just that one Canelo or Cotto fight to really broaden his appeal/name and make the money for other fighters worth it.

GGG vs Lara would be a big financial upset compared to the combined level of boxing talent in the ring. They are 2 of the best fighters of this era.

bradley said he fight him at 160, he didnt even want to fight ruslan again- what makes you think bob gona let him go to 160 for GGG? Lara is like Kid hiding behind the network war, as if HBO will agree for Lara to fight on their network.

HBO would be thrilled to see him sprawled across the canvas....

Al Haymon......different story. But I've read GGG is willing to make the fight. He was ready to do it before his dad passed....

maybe hell dedicate it to his pops

Nah, that would be the little Cuban guy. He has three champs in his own division and they won't even PRETEND like they're going to fight him next year like Cotto and Canelo.

Golovkin is Cotto's mandatory, so Cotto is paying Golovkin step aside money because he and Roach know that Golovkin would knock him out. He will give up the title rather than fight Golovkin. If Alvarez wins, Alvarez will not fight Golovkin either..................

rigo is ducked to an extent, but when was last time he was on HBO? Kind of hard to duck someone who hasnt been fighting the major networks.

So you're saying that it's okay to not fight somebody when the risk isn't worth the reward? You just described pretty much every "duck" in history.

I always just think of Ali's quote -

"It is befitting that I leave the game just like I came in, beating a big bad monster who knocks out everybody and no one can whup him. That's when little Cassius Clay from Louisville, Kentucky, came up to stop Sonny Liston. The man who annihilated Floyd Patterson twice. HE WAS GONNA KILL ME! But he hit harder than George. His reach is longer than George's. He's a better boxer than George. And I'm better now than I was when you saw that 22-years old undeveloped kid running from Sonny Liston."

Where are the Ali's of the sport today? :- (

Its not ok for somebody to not fight someone who isnt worth reward, its that HBO doesnt want Rigo back on their network so fights being made is hard. Golovkin case is different as his got the backing of HBO but no one wants to dance with him:deal

You dont know the real truth about ward because ward has made it clear he wants to fight ggg and wants ggg to move up and stop calling out other names that wont fight him in cotto/canelo/mayweather. Ward even say it to ggg promoter to stop lying about ward dont want to fight ggg.

Ward, Lara, Bradley have all called him out, Stevens got the fight by talking. Rigo is far more avoided.

If Ward wanted the fight that much then he should present a contract and be done with it. No "muh bum shoulder, muh promoter, muh tune up fights" excuses. Everybody seems to think that he would likely be GGG's toughest opponent - lots of guys are thinking he will 'expose' Golovkin - so what's the problem? Call Golovkin's promoters, set a date ffs. And no 90-10 contracts BS, either. He's not a bigger draw than the Khazak at this point.
