Triple Golovkin is a ''big bully'' for calling out the smaller Floyd but B-Hop who used to routinely call out smaller fighters and ones from divisions below when he was MW champ wasn't? Not only that but he expected them to move up in weight and even lobbied the likes of Larry Merchant to join him in accusing them of being cowards and ''chickens'' on live TV if they refused to accept his challenge.

Golovkin, who has always been extremely respectful and polite about all of his opponents/potential opponents, isn't requesting, demanding or expecting Floyd to move up in weight to his division or one he's never fought at before or meet him at a catch-weight like B-Hop did with all those fighters from lower divisions he used to call out. He's always maintained that he'd move down to 154 for that fight, ie. the division where Floyd was not long ago the unified champion at.

And where was all the hate for B-Hop and Ward when they both called out Floyd a while back? They're SMWs and LHWs, divisions which are even higher, two in B-Hop's case, than Golovkin's which is only one above the division that Floyd was the unified champion in until fairly recently. Why aren't they ''big bullies'' when they're naturally bigger than Golovkin is and were both expecting Floyd to move up to 160?

Apparently it's a much graver sin for a MW to call out Floyd even though they've never once suggested he should move up in weight to a division he's never fought at to fight him than it is for LHWs and SMWs to do so and expect Floyd to come up to 160.

It's also a much graver sin for to call out a smaller fighter in a very respectful manner (usually when posed the question if he wanted the fight) than it is for the likes of B-Hop to routinely call out smaller fighters on live TV and expect them to move up in weight (which was a calculated ploy on his part to put them at a disadvantage), and call them chickens and publicly accuse them of being cowards if they said no.

Bernard Hopkins: ''I could've fought three weight classes 4 or 5 years ago''

Larry Merchant: ''You suggested that you could've moved up in weight several years ago''

Bernard Hopkins: ''About 5 or six years ago I could've moved up''

    Larry Merchant: ''Why didn't you?''

Bernard Hopkins: ''Well, there was more money down at the small weights and the risk was minimum to going up to fight the big boys''

Yep they sure could. But they won't have to market Cotto if Floyd chooses to fight him, he's a name and has a built in fan base and Floyd will beat him again.

They'll still market it and sell the public on the first fight being closer than it was and it would do twice the PPV a GGG fight would.

Nothing against GGG but if Cotto beats Geale, a Cotto fight would make the most sense for Mayweather.

    Great post Serge.

But the standards are clearly higher for Golovkins, Kovalevs, Klitschkos etc. here.

Mayweather get in the ring with GGG ????? Yeah sure the same day Bigfoot fights Klitschko ROFLMAO.
If it takes fighting at home with biased commission & officials against an opponent with one arm while juiced to the gills to get a 115-113 dec win without putting a mark on him. fraud wouldn't have a prayer against GGG he knows it too.
Frauds last fight will be against another fraud Quitter Cotto mark my words. Anyone that supports that Bull Feces is no boxing fan

If they were to fight and Mayweather beat Golovkin. You guys would say Golovkin was weight drained and so Mayweather just can't win.

Mayweather has already beat bigger guys like Canelo Alvarez. He made Alvarez look ordinary even though he is damn good.

I wouldn't say he was weight drained unless it was obviously the case. And it is my opinion that GGG would stop Canelo inside 6 rounds if they ever meet.

The difference here is that Hopkins was a bigger name when he said that and had a far better record than GGG. He also was a unified Middleweight champion. GGG's biggest win to date remains to be Murray and that was his very recent fight. He's absolutely no one to make the similar demands Hopkins did back then.

GGG is not making demands. He is saying he would like the fight, usually when asked about it, and is willing to come down to 154 where Floyd is the champion. How is he making demands?

Exactly. I love how angry some of these guys are at GGG about this.
