Well, while the timing always seemed to be favorable, like it or not, Floyd beat every worthwhile opponent in his generation in his weight range. The TBE talk is nonsense, and I'm sure Floyd himself knows this (it's a marketing ploy, and quite an effective one at that, apparently). He's not close to being TBE. But he is clearly the best of his generation.
@ "unbecoming"! Now it's "unbecoming" to even ask for a fight with Floyd. If that is indeed the case, what adjective would you use to describe some of Floyd's actions?
Tough isn't really the only option when it comes to picking opponents for a major star at the end of his career. It's all about how good that opponent looks on paper and how recognized he is to the general public. At this stage, Mayweather is totally beyond picking opponent simply based off toughness. If the opponent is tough and popular, then that's a bonus. Froch, Ward, Alvarez, Abraham, DeGale and Lara will all be tough opponents for Golovkin.
That isn't the question. I completely agree and have stated countless times now that I don't think Floyd will take the fight and that I won't fault him if he doesn't. Answer the question, please.
But my issue is would GGG be able to catch him? Fighting Floyd is like fighting a chicken without a head
The fight won't happen. People are crazy if they think Mayweather could win. People can talk all they want about Mayweather's movement and defense but Golovkin would hunt him down. Golovkin is the kind of animal who would just punch Mayweather's arms into pieces if Mayweather gets cute covering up. It's the exact kind of fight that Mayweather knows to avoid. Mayweather is the new breed of boxer who won't take those kind of risks with his health.
Pacquiao II, Khan, Thurman and Brook will all be tougher fights than a Golovkin moving down to 154 after a decade of being at 160.
I honestly didn't understand anything in your post. Not being offensive here just being honest. If you want to resort to name calling then go ahead. By the way, GGG's next opponent is a 200 to 1 underdog. :rofl Enjoy that "omg insaaaainnnneeeeee in the membraiinnnnneeee" KO.
Okay, agree to disagree on that then. If the fight is 'meaningless' for Golovkin and a win would 'prove nothing' then who would be a more difficult fight for him from 154-168 besides Ward?
