Actually he says everything you need to hear from the champion, over and over again. Can you name a fighter who sounds intelligent and not saying obvious simple things all the time? And as a matter of fact, those questions that are been asked are so simple and obvious, even Paul Krugman would sound a bit slow.
I do think he plays it up a little. I am sure his handlers have told him the people love his catch phrases be sure to use them every post fight press conference.
GGG is a smart man. He is playing the role that the media and a lot of the public wants him to play and they are eating it up. He is on course to be held in the same high esteem as Pac but I think that he is smarter than Pac and won't let himself be used as a puppet. Because of his age, he doesn't have the luxury to chase down the best middle weights and so he's going straight for the gold. If he beats Cotto or Canelo, then I truly hope that he starts demanding the fights with Andy Lee and Quillin and Jacobs. I would like to see that mess cleaned up.
Krugman has never been particularly sharp on the uptake as is to be honest. I'd take GGG TKO3 in any debate where he had a Russian or German translator tbh, and start accusing him of cherrypicking bums.
Yes, and I've always known that he's playing the role given to him by Sanchez. You want to see the real GGG here he is. Serious as a heart attack. Here he is being the real GGG. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKZR34SbtI8
This is a silly post. The reason he seems different has to do with a few factors: 1. He has time to think to translate what is said. 2. The interview isn't about him, so he is being respectful and not drawing attention to himself. 3. His english has gotten progressively better. He still sounds pretty much the same to me. I might be one of the few that thinks he has always come across as arrogant though and not a "good boy".
i think he's probably a very intelligent guy, realizes his phrases have caught on and just likes to use them, plus i think he just prefers to do all his talking in the ring
No its not a silly post, he repeats the same slogans over and over again when being interviewed by Max, he's gotten to where he almost pauses waiting for the audience to respond to his lines. He's obviously putting on an act in the interviews. Golovkin is a very intelligent guy and Sanchez constructed an image to play up his affable likeable qualities. They know that Americans aren't head over heels in love with Eastern Europeans so the soften his image to make him more palatable to all of the people here that still think of EE's as cold Soviet killing machines.
:deal Plus playing "dumb" is a good way not to fall into the rhetorical traps and gotchyas that Kellerman seems to like to occasionally spring on fighters who are still pumped full of adrenaline and have their head ringing.
Well Jacobs has a title and so does Andy Lee. Quillin, Lemieux, and N'Dam is for legacy. I would also like to see him fight Korobov. Legacy is important. Wouldn't want him to go down in history as king can crusher. I also think that winner of Cotto and Canelo will fight him.
Yes, he definitely plays stupid. When he's not in America, he talks extremely fast and is clearly very smart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQoarqmF8CE
