Under different circumstances, sure other opponents would have been better.

Again, he didn't call out Brook. He signed a contract to fight Eubank but accepted Brook as a last minute replacement when it fell through.

This fight should rightly be criticised. But the heat should be on Oscar and Eubank Snr more than GG.

GG accepted a fight that kept HBO happy and it gives him the opportunity to widen his fan base in a huge PPV fight in the U.K.

He made the best of a bad situation.

GG needs a marquee win before he can dictate terms to Canelo?

Yeah, wanting a huge unification fight at 160 was really unreasonable wasn't it?

It's nothing to do with PPV numbers.

Canelo is now fighting Liam Smith.

What do you mean what Canelo pulled has no bearing on GG fighting Brook? What the hell are you talking about? Canelo made all the right noises about fighting GG in September and said he was relinquishing the belt to make negotiations for the fight easier. Yet they didn't have any negotiations and he went on to sign a contract to fight Liam Smith instead. It was only after the Smith fight had been signed that Oscar met Loeffler where they supposedly have only a verbal agreement in place. All of which left GG to find another opponent for September, which lead him to Eubank Jnr, and then Brook after it had fallen through. So GG fighting Brook is a direct result of Oscar and Canelo dropping the belt and running back to 154.

Believe it or not, I'm not even a huge fan of his. But I'm a logical person who appreciates circumstances and I call things how I see it. A lot of my time is spent talking about GG because there seems to be about 2-3 new threads everyday discussing him. I'm out of work at the moment due to a back injury, so I've got plenty of time on my hands. If you guys debated other topics I'd gladly contribute.

If you're out from work watch a tv show or relax. Don't waste it spending every minute defending little g. You're not convincing anyone saying that you're logical and not a huge fan. There's a fight going on right now btw why not watch it and get over your obsession of defending him. Go to your post history and look at how much time and effort you put in defending the little one.

GG also said he would fight anyone from 154-168, he is also fighting someone who he originally thought was too small for him. It goes both ways, the only reality check your post gave was that GG's words only count when it fits your agenda.

Also GG is now one of the biggest faces in boxing bringing in full capacity crowds at the gate. Yet his and his opponents purses are less than other boxers that bring a smaller crowd then him. K2 is a huge part of why no one is willing to get in the ring and get beat by GG, cos it's not worth the risk. K2 is pricing everyone out then crying duck, not the other way around.

I don't have to convince you. I couldn't care less whether you believe me or not. But I'm a straight talker. I don't expect to you to trawl through my history, but if you did you would see an awful lot of posts where I've ridiculed the deluded section of his fan base. I'm also a big Andre Ward fan and I've defended him many times, especially on the whole 'ducking Bute' affair.

Again, if there were other topics to discuss, I'd be all over them. But this site is currently obsessed with GG, so that's where most of my attention lies.

    I haven't got an agenda.

Yes, I know what he said. But what don't you understand about the fact that Brook was a last minute replacement for Eubank?

You say K2 is pricing everyone out, but how much money do Jacobs and Saunder's want?

K2 and GGG didn't have the O2 on hold Hearns did it is rational to think GGG could still fight in mid/late Sept and still have another fight in Dec. Saying he had to fight then or else he couldn't fight at all is a bit of a copout.
Also was just looking at an interview from Sanchez and K2 the other day where they straight up said if an opponent wants 1mil or more they can't make the fight, your asking how much Jacobs/Saunders want but according to K2 unless the opponent puts up the money like Hearns is doing anything close to a mil or over is asking for too much.

I know that Hearn had booked the O2. I didn't say GG literally couldn't fight anyone on another date. I said the Brook fight was rushed through so they could keep HBO's date of September the 10th. If things couldn't have been worked out with Brook or he'd refused the deal to look for someone else, that date couldn't have been kept. Not unless he'd have tied up something else in less than a week.

Regarding his opponents purse, it depends on many factors. But I think they're going to have to dig very deep to get Billy in the ring for a chance to obtain the last belt in the division.

I'm a huge GGG fan and love his fighting style. I also see why he is fighting Brook...his biggest ever payday against a top (but smaller fighter)

The Canelo fight is the biggest in boxing. Find out if he will fight next year, or move up.

I happen to think GGG is a small middleweight so the move north might not suit him...but considering he is being touted as an ATG he will need to move up and prove it.

Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world, by far!!! You can blame Alvarez, Saunders, Jacobs, Quillin, Eubank for Golovkin having to fight Brook, big money, top welterweight, and a time factor.............tell Alvarez, Eubank, Saunders, Jacobs to fight Golovkin ASAP!!!
