I would have like to have seen a prime Hagler against the guys that came after him, just like I would have wanted to see Golovkin against Martinez and Pirog, and preferably Jacobs and Canelo when he was younger.

But you seldom get what you want. As it is now, I think Golovkin has had quite good opposition as champ. Jacobs and Canelo are both quality fighters. I don't think he really separated himself from either, though.

    Disagree with everything ?
So you think Hearns and Duran were great middleweights ?
You think Golovkin is near or inside the top 15 MW of all time ?
And you think Hagler-Duran was as close as the judges had it ?

'83 Duran might be better than Alvarez but I'd have the Golovkin of a few years ago against Duran, not the 2017 version.

As for Golovkin-Canelo, I think it reminded of Hagler-Leonard quite a bit. One fighter pursuing and the other mainly retreating and fighting in spurts. The main differences are that Golovkin's jab was more effective than Hagler's and that Canelo on the other hand stayed in the pocket a bit more and landed more damaging blows than Leonard.

In both cases I had it narrowly for the one who scored more clean punches.

Hagler deseved to win against Duran but it was a close fight in my view. Anybody who gives prime Hagler such fits has a real chance against prime GGG.

I think it was very similar to Hagler-SRL too. Right down to the 118-110 card.
I can already see the "he swept the first 4 rounds" stuff coming out already .... "and the last 3 ! " .....

Hagler didn't even get the draw though. Ouch ! Nevermind.

Hearns vs Golovkin would be a good fight. I think Hearns has the skills to beat Golovkin. Duran I think would pose a challenge and have a tough fighter to the finish with Golovkin. Leonard at the time he fought Hagler would've likely went life and death with Golovkin but may have been able to pull it off. Golovkin vs Mugabi would be an interesting fight. The rest of Hagler opponents I'd favor Golovkin against but I wouldn't rule out him losing and having very close tough fights especially on his come up fighting the fighters Hagler faced. Golovkin is good enough and dangerous enough to always have a punchers chance in any match up at middleweight. I"d pick Hagler to beat Golovkin though.

Agree, Duran from the Hagler fight beats Canelo.
