Fight been signed for October 15th against Lajuan Simon. Wasn't really expecting anyone better seeing as the fight is on in Kazakhstan, should be a handy night in the office for GG. Bad news is N'Dam fight negotiations are off due to N'Dam's promotional difficulties (whatever that means) so they are pushing for a fight against super champ Felix Sturm.
In hindsight, maybe it would of been best if he stayed with Universum who have since gone into a big partnership with some sports media type company and a tv deal is imminent, or switched to another german or european base promotional stable. I wouldn't say his career has stalled, i think its regressed. His level of opposition apart from Ouma hasn't improved. In Abel Sanchez it would seem he has a trainer that is not interested in Golovkin's technical ability, which is excellent. Sanchez is getting him to adopt a total abandon of defence and ring craft and training Golovkin excatly like he trains Antillon and Peter, head down, plod forward throwing wild punches. Golovkin and Schaburrow worked well together. Schaburrow is big on Tzsyu type fighters, all about balance and timing and an excellent boxing brain. Golovkin is a super talent going backwards. Shame.
