Has the same sort of hype and feel to it maybe not as much but the closest thing

Golovkin and Alvarez have an opportunity to make the rarest move in boxing these days giving fans the best possible fight at the best possible time.

will canelo the proud mexican take this challenge and give the fans what they want?

It's nothing like Pac-Floyd's hype. Nothing at all.

Canelo isn't a real middleweight. I barely care about the fight.

Yep. If this fight never happens, I personally wouldn't care as I see it as a complete and total mismatch.

Even though Pac and Floyd would have been ideally matched up on March 13, 2010 - the fight still was intriguing when it did happen, and I'm glad it finally came together even if 5 years and 7 weeks too late.

Most casuals knew who Pac and Floyd were. I'm not seeing a lot of evidence that the same can be said for either Canelo or Golovkin.

You're clearly new to the sport or have a bad memory. I have never seen the boxing world so hot for 1 fight like Mayweather vs Pacquiao in 2009. That was the 2 absolute best p4p in the world with 0 fighters even close to their level at the time. God it's a shame it took them 5 years to get it on.

even gggs own fans think its a mismatch

The size difference between Canelo and GGG is smaller than Floyd and Manny. The former pair are the same size. The latter are naturally different sizes and fit different weight classes.

DLH is thinking the same thing you are and it's the reason he keeps saying "we need to let the fight marinate" Ironically, both FLoyd/Pac were big names because of DLH, which greatly impacted the profile of that fight, not so with GGG/Canelo.

No, Canelo and GGG are very close in size, if by size we mean walk-about weight.

I do agree with you though that Ward/Kovalev is probably a better fight.
