Golovkin in under 3 rounds. Just shows how poor the 160 division was when Joppy was the concensus number 2 in the division.
This post makes absoloute no sense. So because YOU believe GGG would KO Joppy in under 3 rounds, it shows how poor the MW division was back then? :huh The Fak?
Joppy had a better jab than "anyone" Golovkin has ever faced, indeed a better jab than anyone at MW currently, including Golovkin. Joppy had a great jab, good right hand, fair power, a good chin and good footwork. He would be a top 2 MW in this era as well. No way Golovkin runs him over. Golovkin wins a far tougher than expected decision, after he wears Joppy down, and Joppy simply fights to survive.
The middleweight division was weak at the time of Hopkins rule. Besides Hopkins you had Joppy and Holmes as champions, along with Robert Allen and Echols as the the top contenders. It was horrendous. But that has no baring on a Golovkin victory over Joppy, Joppy wasn't that good. Again read what you write prior to submitting.
You never answered at all. You stated that to beat Joppy you had to have Trinidad power or Hopkins ring iq. Yet he had lost to Green and drew with Toney. Did these fighters have Trinidad power or Hopkins ring smarts?
