Good fight, but no need for a re-run really. We already know the result. For me it's GGG v BJS and Canelo v Brook.
In a couple of years if Brook grows into Middleweight and GGG starts to age, why not? It was a really good fight
Fighters who don't move their head well, and also refuse to keep their right hand up to their face are very susceptible to left hooks. Had nothing to do with being unlucky. GGG is a talented offensive boxer, it is to be expected that he would exploit Brook's defensive flaws.
Brook had a chance if he hadn't had his eye smashed up. We'll probably never know what might have happened now, but it was pretty clear he was the more skilled boxer. I doubt he could have kept GGG off him for 12 rounds, though. In the end, as seems to be the consencus, the weight was just too big a factor and always will be.
I don't wish to see Triple G vs Kell Brook 2 . There's no need for it . Besides we have to see Whether or not Brook will ever be the same and still be able to compete at his highest potential. A broken eye socket is potentially career ending . You people do realize this right?
If they set it up again I'd watch it. Fact is it was a competitive fight up to the point when the injury became a real factor and you can't say that about many Golovkin fights. But ideally he should get a decent win or 2 before they look to have a rematch.
This, Brook went 5 rounds and mostly with impaired vision and severe pain, had this happened in round 7 I have no doubt Brook would have made the full 12 rounds. He has a cast iron jaw and would have been boxing very smartly with full vision, probably would have made GGG miss a lot more than he did and landed even more, vision and pain together are a massive hindrance and few people are taking this into account.
