This is really bad for boxing - big disappointment.

Btw. I´m not blaming Brooks, he gets career high payday. I don´t blame GGG either. They had to fight somebody but options were slim. Instead, I blame Eubanks. They really messed everything up. I will never watch or buy Christina Eubanks fight again. That´s a promise.

Brook is the number 1 fighter at 147lbs
If Brook moved up to 154lbs tomorrow I think he beats everybody there. He'd totally humiliate Canelo at 154lbs

    Brook at 160lbs
Now, if this fight were against some top ten guy like like BJS I'd think that was a 50/50 fight personally. I think going in with an elite level 160lb boxer is his only mistake. If Cotto and Canelo can box at 160lbs, Brook such as hell can.

Cool. I hope that you are right and that Brook doesn't get messed up badly. :thumbsup I think Golovkin is far too big for him.

This fight sucks simply because I don't want to see Brook getting knocked out. :-(

I think if Brook's power does carry up, this fight will be a lot more interesting than all the naysayers are saying. Brooks counters are accurate, and GGG is easily hit. Brook's defence has got to be astounding all night to avoid being knocked-out. Its an intriguing fight for me, personally.

Take into consideration GGG's 34 year old legs also, he's going to be chasing air most of the night. He's an elite fighter, so is Brook, so it'll be a chessmatch to see who controls the fight, because both fighters are more than capable.
Like if this fight was using only jabs, I'd favour Brook to win, its just the strength advantage at this weight, I've got to favour GGG.

I'll be watching for sure though.

I think this is a much better matchup than Canelo vs Khan, no doubt. Brook is undefeated, a huge WW to begin with and hasn't had his chin shattered continuously (or at all) at lower weight classes like Khan did.

It's really a case of, "if not Brook than who?" Canelo doesn't want the fight yet, no other top MW wanted the fight so it's a case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't."

If GGG fought another MW who was not known, he'd still be getting criticized by the same people on this site who are criticizing him now. 👍🏻

They should be meeting at the middle 154, or even 155, 156, this win means absolutely nothing for little g at the full 160.

This fight won't do anything really to enhance GGGs legacy unless Brook comes in looks very good, but eventually gets beat ( and then goes on win titles at 154/60 )

I don't really blame GGG for taking this fight
UK can pay big money at the moment

The only big name/big money fight in the states for GGG was Canelo, and Canelo doesn't want that fight yet

So Eddie offers big money for GGG to fight Eubank and then that falls through so offers the same for Brook.......

There is not a single fight available outside of Canelo where GGG could earn what Hearn has offered

And brook wants the fight because he wants a big payday and a big name because ( Garcia and Thurman don't wanna know at this point )

I hope brook don't get completely smashed though, and become damaged goods as I am a big fan of him as a boxer
