GGG beat Canelo clearly in fight #1 only a rare oddball would think otherwise, fight #2 was closer but Canelo still lost. Mastered is what Bivol did to little -c when he took him to slick school and made him look like a arm hitting plodder.
Both actually. First time I gave it to Canelo 116-112 and 115-113 fine as well. Took him to sleek school. 2nd time I had it wider to Canelo by Mexican style Mano-mano Mas requested and delivered. As Roy JONES said watch what you ask for.
I gave rounds 1-4 to Canelo as he outboxed like g showing superior skills. What impressed me with lil g was the tempo and pace he set which bothered Canelo down the stretch like an energy bunny on steroids, until he hit his second wind winning rounds 10-12. Might not be popular but I don’t court popularity rather I call it like I see it.
He is too old, but he still has a great chance to beat Canelo again. Canelo is used to fighting guys like Plant and Saunders. Guys who run. Against GGG he will be getting hit hard and clean. GGG has nothing to lose and everything to gain because at 40 he is considered old and he will be a huge underdog. Canelo can't afford to lose again, especially against a senior citizen. The pressure is on Canelo.
Problem is ms GGG still has skills/power etc but undeniably slowed , he never really caught Canelo clean regarding head shots in previous fights & credit to Canelo he is pretty elusive up close. GGG may decide its time for War & blast his body, arms , hips hoping for a late stoppage but thats not Banks style. I have never understood why GGG chose Banks to replace Sanchez, I think the need for change happened quickly maybe partly to with the 1st fight & Sanchez views afterwards but I think Banks was more or less foisted upon GGG by recommendation through Loeffler & his connection to K2 & Klitchkos...Roach or McGirt would have been my choice...
