GGG against the Duran that fought Hagler?

Would Duran make him miss and outscore him or would Golovkin break Roberto apart???

Duran slips and counters his way to a points decision in a great fighter.

GGG is too big and strong for Duran at 160 pounds. Escape is not an option for Duran, he's outgunned here, by a bigger, skilled and more durable opponent.

    GGG inside 7 rounds

Sadly, Duran is an enigma....at the higher weights, you just never knew which Duran would show up.
Duran "hung in" with Hagler in a loss, and beat Iran Barkley by SD. The best Duran would probably outpoint the GGG that beat Kell Brooks lately.

With reference to KB vs GGG and jumping up 2 divisions, RD did the same against SRL and won.
Duran was the complete package against top opposition but GGG is also a warrior against lesser opposition in a different era.
One can only measure Duran's performance against Hagler, a true MW, to see how he would fare against GGG.
However I feel Hagler gave Duran way too much respect in that bout and Duran with the shorter reach gave a good account of himself with his boxing skills over 15 rounds.
It would also depend on which Duran showed up.

Lots of respect for Duran but GGG too big, strong, heavy handed and durable for Duran. Duran is an all-time great lightweight and a good welter and middle. GGG is arguably just as great a middle as Duran was a lightweight. What it comes down to is any full blown middle that ever lived would have their hands full with GGG. I am not saying GGG would win over the all time great middles but I can't think of one that GGG doesn't have a very good chance to beat. In case you are wondering, I am 76 years of age and saw most of the great middles. I watched them train and went to a fair share of their fights. GGG is the real thing.

GGG has the punching power and conditioning of a Marciano. He has the chin of a Chuvalo. He is very strong minded and fears no one. He had 350 amateur fights and won 345 of them. He has never been decked as an amateur or pro. He has the highest KO percentage in middleweight history.

I know you can make the argument that his competition doesn't measure up but he cant control that.

How can you come to the conclusion GGG is arguably just as great a middleweight as Duran was a lightweight? That's ridiculous.

It is not ridiculous. You have a right to disagree but to say it is ridiculous is ridiculous.

It is extremely ridiculous. Duran is considered the greatest lightweight of all time. He dominated the division for a decade having a 62-1 record with more ko's than Golovkin has had pro fights. When GGG dominates middleweight for a decade and beats fighters of the calibre of Ken Buchanan and Esteban DeJesus then we can talk.

How does that take away from the point made that Estaban de Jesus was a fighter of some caliber?

How is this arguable? On what basis does one realistically put a case that Golovkin is as great a middle as Duran was at lightweight?

And what's your point? He evenged that loss in style X2 in great fights. The third fight was a masterfull performance by Duran. DeJesus was a fantastic fighter btw. Golovkin has never stepped in the ring with a fighter anywhere near the quality of Esteban DeJesus and likely never will.
