2G nearly stopped Jnr. 3G would. Good thing theres no such thing as 4G or Eubank would be burying his son.
It's a totally different fight to the Groves one. It's the most exciting fight I can think of right now in world boxing, simply because Eubank Jr doesn't have a defense, all he knows is attack. He'll be getting into an all-out brawl with GGG. Both are monsters when fighting up close. This is how I see it going... First 2 or 3 rounds, golovkin dominates, Eubank is definitely a slow starter and likes to adapt to what's put in front of him before going in for the kill. Then rounds 4, 5, 6 and 7 are really close wars, where both guys just go all-out and throw the kitchen sink at each other. Both guys have good chins, but I think Golovkin's is most certainly better. Golovkin also has the power advantage at middleweight, although Eubank Jr does have decent power too, just nowhere near what GGG has. Those 4 rounds in the middle are probably split even, 2-2. Then in the final 5 rounds, you'd expect Eubank Jr's superior stamina to help him. I'd have him winning at least 3 of those 5 rounds. So 7-5 is my prediction if it happened. Eubank has a better chance than most people think against Golovkin, because I think GGG will give Eubank's attacking mentality some respect, and maybe GGG will box a little more in this fight than most of his other fights. His stamina, workrate and chin really give Eubank a chance of winning a war like this. I don't think he will win, but I suspect he might come close., especially when you consider this is an older, slower Golovkin. Of course, young, fresh, light GGG absolutely decimates Eubank Jr.
Golovkin by manslaughter, somwhere around 5-6 round. CEJ has absolutely nothing that can hurt Golovkin, I mean seriously which fighter has? I doubt Joshua or Wilder would KO him. If CEJ came in swinging as widely as he did vs Saint Groves it would end before the 4th round.
GGG KO in rounds 6-8 CEJ has a decent chin, but GGG would be landing flush often enough to completely crack it. GG had he been a bit younger and less safety first could have closed the show last night on 2-2 ocassions in the fight
This would totally be Lemieux 2.0. Golovkin isn't getting into a slugfest with a guy like CEJ if he doesn't have to. He'll fight from behind the jab, use distance to negate most of CEJ's wilder attacks and slowly beat his face to mush. At around 8-9 Eubank will be falling to bits and Golovkin would do him a favour and stop him. Since Eubank isn't much of a counter puncher, look to GGG's special hook to the liver to feature in the line up. The British commentators will likely have CEJ up on the cards right until the "oh dear!" moment
Haha this is exactly how I imagine it going, too. Eubank will be all "I almost had him, I'd get him in a rematch just as soon as my face gets rebuilt but GGG won't fight be again because he's scared".
