Hard to be sure. We've never seen him in with a fighter that good, and we'll never see him do 15 ever.

But Hagler did get better, that's fair to say.

Hagler a far less amateur experience, and more professional fights before he won the title.

I don't think Golovkin can start fast enough to win vs Hearns. Golovkin has that relaxed style that helps him but will get you knocked into Jupiter vs Hearns. He'll have to be more intense and quick on his feet and I haven't seen that yet from him.

Golovkin knocks out the Ray Leonard that got the decision vs Hagler. I think he does a much better job than Hagler of choosing his punches and punishing Ray along the ropes. Ray was fighting in spurts at this point and Golovkin would make him fight for three minutes.

Duran vs Golovkin would be a beaut to watch, but volkswagen into a truck imo. I think Duran makes a fight of it, and looks very good at times, but Golovkin would hurt him if he doesn't get sucked into Duran's pace. Duran had a habit of utilizing feints to make his opponent fight at the pace he wanted.

Minter had no problems with Antuofermo yet Hagler
    destroyed Minter.

I hope GGG is all he is cracked up to be , but he looked fairly hittable against Monroe.Monroe didn't have the clout to keep him honest but fighters like Eugene Hart would have done.

I think he is, but he's 33 already. If he doesn't get the Cotto, Canelo or Ward in there soon it'll be too late to tell.

Andre Ward should do two tune-ups and take the fight. I'd view Ward as a favorite unless the two years out of the game have hurt him.

Cotto hinted he'd vacate the belt if ordered to fight GGG.

To be fair, Minter did have problems with Antuofermo.
His first wins against Vito was close and controversial if I remember rightly.

I could definitely see Golovkin having a tough fight with Vito too.

There is no way in the world that Vito, would last the distance with GGG. I've been watching boxing for a dang long time and
though GGG has not fought top quality middleweights, it is NOT his fault. It does not mean Golovkin does NOT have the abilities to rise to the occasion and wallop most any MW in modern times...He has one ability that I have not seen in any other MW in memory. To snake his powerful punches high and AROUND his opponents defenses with uncanny accuracy... At times he seems easily hittable, true. But it seems to me he senses the opponents cannot hurt him, and to possibly test himself or wishing to lull his foes into opening themselves up, or even possibly to give the audience a bit of "drahma", I nevertheless believe GGG has an exceptional set of whiskers, proven in over 300 amateur bouts and 30 pro fights. Do not be fooled folks by his "baby" face for underneath his choir boy looks, lurks a killer...Whatever the future holds I would rather watch one GGG fights than all of Mayweathers safety first antics...

it isn't gg's fault he hasn't fought a great mw, but it is still true.

none of these three are great middles either tho(all great fighters but only hearns is even debateable at mw).

i voted 2-1, with what we know about gg they all could beat him but they all could lose.

    Very well put, burt! :good

Golovkin looks like he plays Polo! But, like you say, he is an animal.

I really hope he doesn't turn out like Bute. But from what he did to Murray, Geale and Macklin, who are world class, I can see why nobody wants to face him.

If we are talking about the 33 year old Golovkin of today against Duran, Hearns, and Leonard at the ages they fought Hagler, I'll take GGG to go 3/0. But none of those fights will be easy. And I would give Hearns the best shot if he boxes.
