What do you mean so what you asked for evidence confirming he said Golovkin hit like a sledgehammer and that he got dropped and I provided some for the former and I know he also confirmed the later because I read the interview where he did that was posted on his website. I didn't say it was a big deal just that it was true, which you doubted.

No I knew Sergey said he hit like a sledgehammer, I wanted the evidence confirming that he got dropped.

And even if he did it doesn't mean very much it was sparring, don't worry I'm not throwing off on you Serge.

No worries. He definitely said he got dropped. The interview's on his website somewhere. Golovkin has dropped HWs in sparring. I mean big, strong 230-245 lb HWs, and hurt, dropped or stopped many other fighters much bigger than himself in the gym too so I wouldn't read much into it at all.

Again, I favor Kovalev as of now

If Golovkin was allowed to ease himself up to 175 then things change

If he moved up to 168 first and had success then I'd probably change my mind

but if he goes straight from 160 to 175 against the hard hitting champ, I'd have to favor the bigger man

I'll have to dig it out - I think it might be one of the interviews on Kovalboxer.ru. Kovalev says that he took a knee in one session but that was when he was fresh back from holiday in Russia and Golovkin was nearing the end of camp and in full fighting trim. Means nothing really tho. A guy will take a knee in sparring when he might grit it out in a real fight.

:good Exactly it means nothing, especially since he was taking a knee. Also guys lose to opponents in the amateurs and beat them as a pro. Just imagine what Korobov-Kovalev would look like today if it happened. What happens in the Ams and sparring gets blown way out of proportion on this site.

He has been dropped in sparring, by body shot was a thread a good while back about it.

Until I see how Golovkin carries his form and traits above 160, i would pick Kovalev to UD him.... maybe stop him late.

Kova is to me, a hard fighter for a smaller guy to beat.

Until he slips a bit I dont see anyone under 175 beating him, that includes Ward.

Fights like this normally come down to the difference in mandibular strength and on the basis of that, I give the edge to GGG.

The sparring was a few years ago. Krusher is much more experienced and heavier now (he's coming into fights 10lbs heavier than he did 3 years ago, which helps for body shots)

The problem I have is what would be a fair weight? I think GGG can go to 168, but if Kovalev has to go to 168 like Chad Dawson, he will get KO. At 175 I say Kovalev.

The KRUSHER Drops GGG 6+ times and wins a decision.

WTF you even believe what some guys say ? A lot of people say ton of s**** so you believe to all of them ? I can tell you i was sparr with Wladimir and drop him 3 times on sparr, and he give up after the third, you going to believe me ?
And i dont see a interview where Kovalev say he was dropped. Not to mention there is a lot of false interview where ostensibly say something, but in the end there is no such interview, just a media lying ....
There is plenty with such false interview with footballers, as well with boxers.
Untill i see real prove, that mean video i dont believe it ....
Im huge GGG fan but so far i dont see him how he will handle Kovalev in 175 .... And btw why not put them in 160-165 for example? :D
