Smaller and weaker Cotto (who also ducked Golovkin) stopped him in the 10th round.

 

A prime Martinez would give Golovkin trouble with his speed and awkwardness.

In another interview he also admits that Golovkin is the best middleweight by distance.
This guy was a savage during HBO face offs, but he is showing a lot of sportsmanship since he retired.

 

GGG fight for me all day, always thought so. I just think GGG is better technically and the style that Martinez has is far too dangerous against someone like GGG.

This. Before Martinez started suffering from his knee injuries he would've been a very difficult fight for Golvkin, but by even the Chavez Jr. fight he was already looking shot.

 

Any version of Martinez would look the same or similar to Proksa against Golovkin. Proksa was a poor men's Martinez with more punching power though. None of his best shots had any single effect on GGG. Proksa had also a better way better jaw than Martinez.

Knockout win by Golovkin, there's no doubt.
