We've seen Golovkin against the top 154 pounder in the world moving up, how do we see him against one of the classic 154 pounders who also moved up? A classic technician vs a talented aggressor.
Thought about this one the other day... Intriguing match-up. Mike liked fighters who came to him, but he didn't have the power at MW to bother Golovkin much at all. His slickness would present a problem for Golovkin, as would his jab. But would that be enough to hold off Golovkin, who'd be coming after him all night, behind his own terrific jab? Mike would probably drop a decision, that I would disagree with.
Ok, that is certainly a possibility. I was confused because you voted for "Golovkin by stoppage" in the poll. Nobody ever came close to stopping McCallum. He was too skilled and had an excellent chin. For the record, I think McCallum squeaks out a close decision in a very good fight.
The way GGG throws his right hand, McCallum will eat him up to the body with right uppercut counters. Mike outboxes him, wears him down and wins going away.
Very hard to call. Mike has better feet than Golovkin and is agile enough to circle him like Canelo did. He also has a much better body attack than anyone Golovkin has faced and could exploit a potential weakness. It's hard imagining a man like Mike being driven back as he met fire with fire a few times in his career and usually came out on top. That being said whilst I think Golovkin doesn't have a prayer of stopping Mike, he has enough workrate a and pressure to force a fire fight with Mike and I feel he has a better engine tank. GGG by close decision.
Mc Callum by close decision. Styles make fights and power is the last thing to bother Mike with. Mc callum is just a little bit to complete for GGG but it would be an interesting fight.
This is a difficult one but I think Mike has the skills to outbox Golovkin. Golovkin has an awesome jab and great power but Mike was too durable and skilled to get stopped by him imo. So McCallum by decision.
