Gennady Golovkin It Seems is now held in such high regard that affermation of Ring greatness Beckons, Its his to seize, wether through the quality or quantity of Victims to come.. Another fighter that was in that very same position was Gerald McClellan, A Lethal finisher with a mean attitude, not only confined to inside the ring by all accounts, but that strange and savage affair with Nigel Benn in London which bought down the curtain on Geralds Career and indeed almost his Life Such was the ferocity of the encounter, Truth to Tell in Normal circumstances Gerald would have beaten Nigel probably 8 out of 10 Times, But Perhaps Overconfident and up at Supermiddle, and meeting a warrior like Benn, who was Peed-Off at his Promoters and Fueled by resentments Nigel was in a rare zone this night where you borrow resources from tomorrow to utilise today, Even than a couple of Times Gerald came within a Shaved Whisker of the big Blastout, A few more whiskers if you count a few of his other bombs which just missed the Mark, If Lady Luck had Not frowned on Gerald this night Their is no telling how far his career would have gone with Messrs Toney and Jones looking in with Interest, Lamar "Kid Fire" Parks was Still Hovering as well i belive. . Gennady was able to Walk Down Martin Murray, Despite taking a few Defiant rallies from the Brit But Gerald's Power was on a whole different Level, Could Gennady Ignore Gerald's Left Hook to the Body ? Would Gennady be more Hesitant to apply Pressure, ? Would Gerald cope if Gennady got him on the Ropes and started those Heavy Precision combinations ? Two Ring Assassins Locked and Loaded, - Triple G or the G Man ?
G-Man. That ferocious power, his beautiful body shots and his aggression gets GGG out of there sharpish, IMO.
This fantasy matchup must be at 160 pounds or less. And I hesitate to wager on this fight, but one thing I know is that the shrewd GGG and his trainer would not fight McClellen as carelessly defensively as he did Murray...GGG acted as if Murray was throwing pebbles at him...Great care would be given to Gerald's punching power by GGG and I hesitate to call this fight...
Great fight! I'd pick GGG. Better skills, and more likley to take Gman out then the other way round. And although Gman had a great chin, GGG's chin is insane.
Phil, to say GGG's chin based on his record of never been floored in over 330 amateur and pro fights, smacks of factual logic, the opposition CANNOT DISPUTE that premise, but still does it...:goodatsch
One of my favorite boxing highlight videos on youtube was the best Gerald McClellan video and they took the damn music off it. Ruined my life. :-(
Sad to say but McClellan's best wins were against guys who had been well beaten before they fought him, or were Light Middles. The first real test he faced was Benn, and we al know what happened there. Truth is Benn didn't have a glass chin, but it wasn't the best by a long way. I'd have to favour GGG in this fight.
