I think McClellan beats him on points say by 2-3 rounds ahead but its a clear UD. After the Lemiex fight I had GGG climbing the ladder just below the ranks of Halger and Monzon at 160. But it’s the slowdown of offense against Jacobs that troubles me. GGG’s offense looked very stalled against Jacobs and he was outworked in the later rounds by Jacobs (even though most were blocked and not really full strength shots). It’s just the combination of the sloppy (but effective) power offense vs Brooks, the Wade fight where I think he lost the 5th round by literally catching every shot (why do that? GGG’s a quality fighter no need for that, especially if you are in control anyway) and then the Jacobs fight which I had Jacobs winning by 1 point but it was very close and having GGG up by 2-3 points I have no issue with. Yes, they are all minor things but I think they add up against a quality power boxer/puncher like the Gman. Gman was a freak, a superb athlete, he had movement and power. That right down the pipe keeps GGG honest the whole fight, not to mention the jab. GGG’s chin is legit, he ain’t going anywhere but I think GGG gets outworked with the difference in foot speed heavily favouring McClellan. I’m starting to think GGG vs Canelo is competitive. If you asked me that 6 months ago I would have said a one-sided beating with GGG winning easy.
such an odd criticism given GGG has never fought anyone on g-mans level. GGG has never fought anyone at the level of a benn or jackson either.
