Answer the question would Golovkin be considered the best fighter at any of the higher weightclasses ?
Looking at Ray and Crawford now, Mike does seem to have longer arms, but his shoulders aren't quite as wide which also contributes in overall wingspan. It doesn't look as long as Hearns' tbh, but it looks somewhere between 74 and 77 inches.
Two highly controversial decisions can you stop quoting me with one sentence replies in every thread.....
Golovkin hardly competed anywhere other than 160 until he was old AF so that's a moot question. He offered Ward, Froch and Chavez Jr fights at 168 and they all declined, what can I say. But since you are interested in the deeds of old fighters that move up weightclasses, maybe I can interest you in this epic James Toney fight This content is protected
Toney beat better fighters and beat bigger men who were considered world class. I see no evidence of Golovkin being a better package with weaker opposition and not beating bigger world class fighters at higher weightclasses.
Two best stand out fighters Toney fought at Middleweight McCallum, Nunn. Toney KO'ed Nunn and drew and won a close decision vs McCallum. Two best stand out fighters Golovkin fought at Middleweight Jacobs, Canelo. Golovkin won a close SD vs Jacobs and drew and lost to Canelo. Again as I said I see no evidence of Golovkin being the better package especially against top tier competition.
1) So you agree McCallum lost and drew against his best opposition? Which is the point of this thread 2) Golovkin beat Jacobs unanimously
No I was actually comparing Toney to Golovkin because you said Golovkin was the better package. I've already stated in previous posts that McCallum fought and beat better opposition.
