I question how G'z will do at a higher weight but I will continue to support him. His power may not rise with him but it should still be respectable. Being smaller would he still try to break opponents down or bow more? He was patient at least from the little(literally little as I only watched the Proska fight entirely but will watch a cpl more) I saw of him. Can't see him just starting out outright brawling with a bigger foe but this will be a fun fight to watch even if they guy I root for doesn't win which I like saying as a fan of the sport primarily. G'z is living to the claim as being avoided but it will be interesting how his career progresses. Honestly can't see him knocking out Ooze but we'll see come Jan.
i agree with you... also think that the poll options should have been different. but i was thinking along the lines of. option 1) WTF option 2) GGG = Balls of steal option 3) Fan friendly fight and can go either way option 4) all of the above. or something along those lines... but seriously this will be quiet intense fight for both fighters and impressed that both of them (and their management) are willing to step in the ring with eachother unlike 99% of boxers who are all about careful match planning. this is anything but careful match making for either figher (more so for GGG considering he is the smaller guy)
If GGG wins, noone at 154-160 will fight him. If he loses by KO, perhaps they will find the courage to fight him.
Oosthuzien is class. He could definitely win this. Only reason I favor GGG by stoppage is because of how hittable Oost can be at times.
I voted GGG by ko but would love to see him "get exposed". Don't think Tommy is the one to do it though.
Oosthuizen might be too big, but he is very hittable. Huge test for GGG, and HBO must absolutely love him.
Woulda been nice to Golovkin fight someone at middleweight, after he goes up to super middle he has no excuses for not fightin Ward which is a dumb fight, he will get a pointless loss they shoulda at least waited abit
They will love this fight. It could swing a late shift in their favor in the 2012 War For Hearts & Minds against Showtime.
Weird fight but should be great to watch, both those guys like to mix it up. Nice clash of styles too: tall & rangey volume puncher vs short, compact & economical power-puncher. What a fight to start 2013, can't wait!
Guys fill me in on Oosthuizen, I am not familiar with him. So he's heavier than GGG. Break this fight down for him, especially the weight/height/reach difference. Thanks.
I talked to Golovkin's manager and the fight isn't set in stone yet. They are also talking to Edwin Rodriguez.
Golovkin is risking everything on this fight... If someone dares to criticize him after this fight(win or lose) should be brutally raped...(if the fights is being made) Golovkin clearly WANT TO FUKIN FIGHT.:deal
Hmm. :think That actually might be more exciting, and bloodier - but I think Golovkin would struggle a lot more with Tommy Gun's style and build, and that La Bomba might be an "easy" alternative and not as highly creditable. If you're going to risk a move up to SMW, may as well go for max reward.
