"Imma **** Gennady up!" Better bring it Stevens after such a proclamation like that.

I think all the media hype and naysayers have also gotten to Stevens. I dont think he expected to be as underrated as he is. He even brings it up unbidden alot in interviews...

Looks to me like Stevens saw something really scary on Halloween.

I'm interested in what a slightly-angry Golovkin can do come Saturday. "Are you serious right now?", he says.

I thought that's what he said, wasn't quite sure at the time. He's calculating and smart enough not to do anything stupid, but I wonder how hard he can truly punch if he's pissed off enough. He's coming for those ribs Stevens.

I'm just not sold on GGG. I have went back and rewatched some of his old fights and he really looks limited. He does have punching power but he has not really faced anyone yet. He needs to work on his defence. Way to easy to hit.

He doesn't fight now how he used to though. Yes his defense is what needs working on the most but he doesn't actually get hit all that much for someone with his fighting style. Against Macklin, he hardly took anything clean. All those shots that Lampley said he landed didn't land at all. If someone like Ward says his defense is better than what people give it and that he's not a one-trick pony, I'll take his opinion. I would like to see GGG provide better head movement though.

His win over Macklin does not say much. And when GGG fought Ouma he was getting hit at will. Lets see how he looks tomorrow. He should beat Stevens easy if GGG is even half has good as he is being made out to be. Stevens has power and that is about it.

That was back in what June 2011? If he fought that fought the same way he does now, Ouma wouldn't have had the "success" he did at hitting Golovkin as he would have now. GGG probes a lot more than he used to and manages his distance much better. His win over Macklin doesn't say much as I had him actually losing via body shot, but it was a step in the right direction. I'm not over-hyping him (frankly these threads for and against GGG are really ****ing annoying) but I do think he can be something special. If I'm wrong, so be it.

On the other hand, measuring stick Macklin told us in the post fight interview that Golovkin is very hard to hit clean and that every shot he throws is a 'clubbing' one, referring to jabs that thumped like right hands. From a guy who actually tagged Sergio multiple times, it says... something.

If Golovkin is as easy to hit as some on here believe, Stevens should KO him in about 3 rounds, right?

Kovalev referenced to his sparring days with Golovkin that Golovkin was very difficult to hit clean.

Looking at the latest face off picks, Stevens looks really light, almost skinny. I'll be interested to see the weigh in tomorrow.
