You've missed the point, Canelo was in far more control when he was WBC middleweight champion, the moment he vacated he lost that control. GBP and Canelo should and could have kept the WBC 160 title, let it go to purse bids, bid low and forced Golovkin to make a decision. Then the ball was in Golovkins court, take a small payday for the fight or walk away. You don't vacate, duck back down to the divison below and call out a fighter you vacated your title to avoid, it's embarrassing and it embarrassing you defend it.
