70-30 is one thing. 70-30 at 155 lbs, uh no.

By dropping his belt he lost his edge at negotiations.

If Canelo was still a middleweight belt holder his position would have far greater strengthened when it came to purse/PPV splits. He would have been the A side and a very strong one.

Cool. Where has anyone said that Golovkin turned down the offer, whatever it was? Link me up. Best I've been able to tell GBP claim to have made an offer and Loeffler has acknowledged that there's been preliminary negotiations. I could be behind the times though so feel free to correct me.

Loeffler said he didn't turn down anything. Anyway let's see, $12 million at 160lb is reasonable imo, but $12 million at 155lb is not. Would you agree?

Loffler recently confirmed that DLH/Canelo had agreed to 160 so it seems like weight will not be an issue. I agree with Blackcloud, GGG's team must be desperatly looking for a way to spin this now that the ball is back on their court.

Yellow Canelo now low balling GGG to get out of the fight. It doesn't matter what GGG made in the past, Canelo can't expect GGG to take 10% of the purse.

On the contrary. By dropping the belt Canelo and team were no longer bound
by the organization's rules. It's the reason they dropped the belt in the first place.

How laughably predictable from your ilk.

Fable Sanchez "They will probably offer us something like $2 mill..."

According to recent reports they are offered 5/6 times that and all you hear is crickets.

Canelo vs. GGG can realistically gross $60 million incl. PPV, international rights, live gate and sponsors. Offering $12 million is what like 20%? I agree Canelo should get a bigger purse than GGG but 80/20 seems a bit extreme.

Canelo recently said he was staying at 154lb for a while. I don't really trust either of them.

Exactly. GG Canelo does not need a purse bid. But Canelo can't low ball GG.

Like FMJ and Mike Tyson said, belts are trinkets. You really believe a belt will help at negotiations. Wait till the final numbers come in for the Canelo/Smith fight. If you're the A side and bring the numbers belts don't matter. Just ask Canelo if it helped him get more money against FMJ.

I'm saying that he just can't low ball GG and ask for the fight at 155. They haven't even negotiated yet.

Of course he can lowball GGG. It's the nature of the business. FLoyd did it all the time. When things reach this stage, egos and greed(on both sides) get in the way.

My guess is Team GGG is waiting for the PPV results of Canelo/Smith before they make their move.
