Was going to put this on general but I feared for the racial/nuthuggers/glassjawed responses How do you think it would go.its not inconceivable this could happen if gennady blows out a couple more middleweights If they both stay unbeaten and look unbeatable it would be a fascinating clash of styles between 2 world class in their prime The type of fight that boxing needs,it won't break records in tv audience but for hardcores I'm pretty sure this is the type of match ups we want Catchweight would be ideal as unfortunately weight could be so important but 168 more likely I'm sure.despite clashes like this have being let downs before Dawson ward as an example, this for me is an exception
Yeah heard that,I rate Murray but I actually think barker would be better suited to ggg.he would still get knocked out though
Same for me If it was made with their reputations as they are today it would be sensational for a boxing fan So many things to consider,so many unanswered questions I wouldn't attempt to pick a winner I would just sit back and enjoy
Because Golovkin is a knockout artist people completely forget his boxing pedigree. Think it's fair to say a man with a 350-5 amateur record also knows how to adapt in order to win.
Agree with this Golovkin we know is an exceptional boxer when pressurising and carries ko power unlike ward,it's safe to assume with that amateur pedigree he could be just as good going back Also anyone willing to try to back him up have to be wary that he is a great counterpuncher who will carry great power with short hooks and straight punches.ward would have to be at his best defensively even when attacking
This fight's for interesting than Mayweather-Canelo as you know the winner of that. GGG vs Ward is a 55/45 fight in the favour of Ward in my opinion.
You could say the same for Golovkin. The reason i think its such a fascinating fight is that when you look at both fight, you think there isn't a situation either man couldn't cope with in the ring.
Ggg needs to show what he can do against the best at his weight first for me,great talent though. Weight would be a factor, would Ward make him come up as a man known for not liking concessions this seems more likely than him going down to Ggg's weight. Who knows what the extra weight would do as yet
I heard a few interviews of Abel Sanchez and he was explicit he didn't believe in catchweights and if Golovkin were to fight bigger guys, he would move up to 168.
