And so it's proved by what we witnessesed tonight. Hearn should have never thrown his welterweight champion in with one of the hardest hitting middleweights of all time.

I take my hat off to Kell Brook, he's a top boxer and a brave man. But he is clearly mentally scarred by that Golovkin fight. His eye was bad tonight but it wasn't that bad a boxing injury, we see worse every week. Yet Kell pulled out of the fight with it even though he said after "it wasn't as bad as my other eye injury". It wasn't even the same eye so that's a big psychological issue and one he'll have to get over if he wants to box at the top again.

I'm not having a go at Brook, I'm having a go at Hearn for the reckless move. He was so desperate to land GGG on a PPV that he fed a welterweight to him. I hope he's learned his lesson now.

The weight cut also took a lot out of kell as his gas tank emptied in the later rounds. I don't want to take anything away from Spence, it was a good performance by him. But I think Brook could have won if he was handled better in the last year.

Time for an extended break and a move up to junior middleweight I think. Kell will struggle to go the distance with any top welters with the severe weight cut.

Looking back it was a shocking decision to put brook in with GGG, I can't see him having many more fights.

Yes, I agree, Brook was brave, but Golovkin destroyed his entire career, he is not the same fighter after that fight. Golovkin would also knock Spence out, let Spence fight Golovkin, then fight Brook in a rematch....................then see what happens. Khan/Brook fight would still do well...................however, Khan wants to fight Spence, so does Porter, I could see both beating Spence, but Thurman will get to fight Spence, and beat him. Also talk of a fight with Danny Garcia in Texas, good fight..........

I think Brook wanted the pay day and Hearn made it happen

You have to remember Brook had the unification fight with Vargas on the table for months and the GGG vs CEJ fight was the thing holding it up. Why was that? Obviously it was because Hearn was trying to get Brook the fight!!!

CEJ had to fight Doran before he could even negotiate the GGG fight and then was given a week deadline which is pretty pathetic.

Why didn't Hearn make GGG wait a bit and get the Eubanks on board? GGG had no options!!!!

I also think Hearn wanted to throw Sr under the bus to deal direct with Jr and take a bigger cut of the purse taking control of Jr's career.

Hearns excuses were pathetic too, doubling ticket prices and having McGuigan commentate, ffs why did anyone believe that???

If Brook beat Vargas, who was Pacman going to fight? Brook would have been the man in the division with 2 belts!

Brooks career was ruined and CEJ and GGG both took beatings too, who was the winner in that situation???

    Pacman getting an easy belt?

Agree completely, Eddie thinking about the money and not Kell's career. Kell should have chased the Vargas fight and pick up a second belt. Then the paydays would have been even bigger.

Yep it was reckless. It was a gamble that not only didn't pay off but damaged him. The punches from a bigger fighter effected him more than he though maybe. looking at it now it was very stupid. Went the khan route hoping he could pull off what Khan didn't. Maybe it's a lesson to smaller fighters, it's more than taking a loss if you take the gamble, you could get seriously hurt and pick up injuries you may not recover from.
