They still have Canelo and Joshua might regain the belts from Ruiz, so they’re far from dead in the water.

The GGG check is nonsensical though unless it’s a cash advance on a third fight with Canelo.

I thought the whole lure of dazn was “PPV fights without the PPV price.”

Looked up the schedule for the rest of the year and see nothing resembling PPV level.

IF they make Canelo-3G III this year, that would be one.

No way Joshua-Ruiz I would have made it as a PPV in the USA. The rematch either. Those are Showtime level, not PPV level.

AJ is not a star in America but he is now a laughing stock after losing to a fat boy. Winning a rematch won’t change that.

Canelo is a star here. GGG is respected but has no identity or audience beyond hardcore boxing enthusiasts, couldn’t carry a PPV without Canelo attached to it.

I don’t see a single star made by Eddie outside the UK yet and none on the horizon.

I’m a boxing fan and haven’t yet subscribed to dazn or ESPN plus —but if I had to plunk down for one or the other right now I’d go Espn because I keep hearing dazn streaming and commentary is crap and espn has a better lineup scheduled.

I wonder if GGG would trade some of that money to have two wins over his best opponent like Ward does.

    This is boxing.
I agree on the age part, but Rolls did some smart ass **** in there. But still, Golovkin figured him out and annihilated him.
I think it's foolish to write him off because Rolls had some good moments.

Look what happened to Zab he’s in a coma with a brain bleed.
Watching GGG take those heavy shots from Rolls showed me he’s diminished. He has all the money in the world. Fight canelo and he done with this deadly sport

Could be that he emerges. So far hasn’t stepped up to world class but that’s understandable. Somewhere between a suspect and a prospect.

But if he’s the star you’re building, why have him fight “off Broadway” so to speak instead of showcasing him in a chief support spot under AJ or at least on a meh GGG show? Why not push him in front of your audience to get more people excited about him?

 You honestly just compared Golovkin with Judah? Judah has should have retired in 2008 when he was no longer able to beat top competition. 9 months ago everyone was yelling how Golovkin just got robbed.
You mean to say Golovkin went from P4P to "he should retire"
    in just 9 months?
Rolls is a fine boxer and this is boxing after all. If Alvarez or anyone else actually blows him away, or someone of Rolls' caliber beats him then should he think about retirement.

Golovkin doesn't have a history of taking punishment. He is still fresh and capable.

Ward has enough money to fix his droopy eyes and buy a gently used, gently loved, pre-owned Civic.

Ruiz—Joshua II is clearly PPV level.

I’m just thinking about the numbers. If they have 2 million US subscribers, 1 million UK, and 2 million international, that would be about $500 million to work with. If $250 million is spent in overhead and staffing, that would leave $250 million per year to pay fighters plus live gate.
