The consensus is an echo chamber. The consensus of this forum is that Canelo is a very unpopular fighter who nobody likes. Obviously that doesn't translate to the real world since over the weekend Canelo drew 73,000+ people in Texas and the overwhelming majority of those fans were rooting for Canelo.

    No.
You might had been offered to sign contracts with different texts.
Main differences are in fight purses and clauses + where fight will be done.
It is not so equal: fight you for 500 bucks or xx xxx xxx digits purse and anyway this is pro fight offer.
Then there are clauses: no clauses, one sided clauses, dual sided clauses.

You most likely do not have so much interest about contracts details.
For example, what means clause in contract I will show in this example: when boxer A had signed contract with boxer B, he had signed contract with rematch clause.
He had won this fight via stoppage and get title.
boxer A executed rematch clause and after 6 months had defeated boxer B who previously had stopped him.

There are also big differences, is this clause one sided or dual side clause.
Sometimes boxers who are cash cows attempt to call out other title holders, offer one sided rematch clauses and sometimes not so good purses.
Then they are yelling that they had been ducked:D.

There is also another example: if someone will offer to fight vs you for 50 bucks and call you out and if you will not sign contract, call you as ducking him.
While you might had earned this sum with another job with lesser effort.

We do not know what kind of contract they had offered to sign with.

For example some managers are offering to their boxers opponents to sign one sided rematch clauses even in small hall shows fights contracts.
It is your choice to sign this or no.
If you fight professionally, this is like all other jobs. Doesn't matters do you sell beer in pub or fight professionally or are selling mortgage for % from deal.
In all careers you need develop yourself to get better ranking and be more popular in your field.
Doesn't matters are you engineer or prize fighter or shop assistant.
