Golovkin hasn't even touched 168lbs and is pushing 35yrs, Let alone 175lbs... This fight won't happen anytime soon (Not a lot of time left). Also figure that SOG ain't gonna chop a leg off just to accommodate GEE. This should have already happened but didnt.
I don't think that GGG will be that interested in cutting off the ring being that he will be occupied with trying to stop the ring from getting cut off on him.
GeeGeeGee might indeed have the physical tools to be very competitive against Ward. But what he lacks is the bravery to take the challenge. He didn't want any part of Ward at SMW, so what makes you think he'd take the fight at LHW or even a catch-weight somewhere in between? We could talk about this fight endlessly and debate who brings what to the table and who wins, but Gee x3 won't take the fight and this renders all opinion about the outcome meaningless. In a bid to become P4P No1 he's more likely to call out Román González than Andre Ward... lol
Says the guy that knows nothing about boxing, just because a small percentage of delusional fan boys had Ward winning does not signify he did. You are practically trying to justify the disgraceful decision the Judges made. kovalev won round 1, 2,3,4,6,10 and 12, You could make the argument that Kovalev won the first 6 rounds and 2 or three of the last six. Fact is Ward may have had a better second half but he still did NOT do enough to pull it off, you also have to consider the knockdown. If you watch the fight from an angle you could clearly see Wards overrated inside game, which composed of illegal, ineffective spoiling in the second half, nothing that warrants a decision towards him at all. HE WAS extremely sporadic, sure he was evading many Kovalev punches but he did not outland Kova, Kovalev did a good job evading and outlanding Ward on the other hand. The game is hit and not get hit, Ward failed to hit as much as Kova, Kova on the other hand Hit the most and made Ward not land as much on him. He also had the most effective punches, and had superior number of power punches on Ward. The total damage output from Kova was also more than Ward, Ward did NOT hurt Kova at all. Just look at how messed up Ward came out. Kova was also dictating the pace and throwing and landing more meaningful shots, one -twos from Ward are useless. I am not watching this fight again, 8 times is more than enough, and I am not watching it in slow motion. If you disagree with my perspective and others, than I cannot change your mind. I apologize I came out as hostile in the beginning if I did.
Brilliant break down and is exactly how I saw the fight. Ward knows without question that he stole that victory.
I gave rounds 3,6 and 12 to Ward. The tenth could've gone either way. Both landed clean jabs on each other. Ward did get popped showboating but he did land other shots like a couple of left hooks and body shots. The right hand at the end missed for Kov as we all seen. I apologize for Internet bullying or being annoying. Thought you were just a hater.
Id have to agree here. Lets be honest I think we all knew that if Ward won Golovkin would have even less interest he already appeared to have. Its interesting you dont hear sanchez talking much about that matchup. Hes talked about the Ward/Kovalev fight but hasnt mentioned how he feels about his guy against the winner. Somehow I dont think youll be hearing Sanchez mention Ward much in the future
Just because Ward was dropped by a monstrous puncher in Kovalev does not mean he has a glass chin and it does not mean he would be defeated by Golovkin. We ought to give some credit to Ward for getting off the canvas, making the proper adjustments mid-fight, and winning the bout on the judges' cards. I thought Kova edged it with the knockdown upon first viewing, but Ward showed his metal for sure.
Shout out to Ward though for being resilient, I underestimated his tenacity, still I completely hate his personality.
