Size is extremely important when you're talking about elite level guys.

Which is why people Like Wlad and Vitali including Povetkin or Usyk would outbox the ancient American boxers in the hall of fame. Or does your logic only apply When it suits your Heroes?

If you have 2 very evenly matched opponents in terms of ability, then size, weight, height and reach become hugely important factors.

If not, they're even bigger factors.

The only think that can trump a size disadvantage, is if you have the right blend of skills and speed etc. (style)

GG is smaller than Andre. He weighs less. He has a smaller reach. He isn't as fast. He isn't as skilled. He's much easier to hit. He's never beaten an elite fighter. He's never fought above MW.

Predicting a win for GG, isn't the same as predicting a win for Ali or Tyson over a modern HW.

Wlad Vitali and Povetkin are elite though, like you said size matters so the entire American hall of fame will suffer losses to The mentioned fighters. Cannot have it anyother way.

He said it matters, not size is the ONLY thing that matters. It's not a black and white issue, or all or nothing.

Size wasn't a factor when Brewster and Byrd made mince meat out of the pair of them.

There's no reason why he shouldn't. Ward has 3 belts and and undefeated record. GGG loves belts.
    Call him out at 170/172..

They were being outboxed by Wlad or Vitali, made to look like a pair of amateur brawlers. Also thanks for clarifying that size does not matter, Golovkin could outbox Ward in this instance, thanks for the support.

It obviously depends on the circumstances.

    Size alone never matters.

Size can even cause a disadvantage.

It depends on the two fighters in question.

Having a size and weight advantage over GG is significant if it also goes hand in hand with advantages in speed and skills.

Exactly 'they were' .. Beating a guy for 3 and 4 rounds isn't good enough.. Because they weren't elite they wound up getting stopped. And left in a crumpled heap in Wlads case.

There's isn't any size desparity between Ward and GGG . Only a wide gap in skill and talent. Why doesn't GGG call out Ward now he has loads of belts?

Golovkin is more technically sound than Kovalev, and Kova made Ward look like an amateur, he toyed around with him, why cant Golovkin do a better job at this?

So you contradict Loudons post by saying GGG and Ward are not separated by size? GGG and Ward are both technically sound, Golovkin would outbox Kessler,Abraham, Taylor and Froch, so how would Ward be superior in skills if the both had not even fought yet?

GGG excels at the one thing that doomed (although I think he won, that's the chance you take when going to the judges) Kovalev in: cutting off the ring.

if Kovalev wobbled Ward with a jab and put him on the canvas with a slap, GGG can most definitely hurt Ward. His timing and accuracy will allow him to tag Ward. They both have good ring generalship, but GGG won't gas like Krusher appeared to have.

I think a rematch is in order, obviously. But if Ward somehow was to win again, I like GGG's chances against him. It's unlikely that Ward could seriously hurt him even with his best power shot, but I believe GGG can catch and hurt Ward. Remember, Ward still has to cut to make 175, GGG would be all power coming up. He wouldn't bring unnecessary bulk or muscle into it, probably not even coming up to the full 175.

    Interesting fight.
