He is awesome ro watch, but he is no where near Hagler status. Maybe he gets there, maybe he doesnt. Its plain to see though this kid has a natural gift to fight.
trip G has been my guy for years. he is the best MW I have ever seen (yes better than hagler, sorry) and the best fighter/boxer in boxing and I don't think anyone is remotely close to the talent and beastly destroyer he is. in a couple years people are going to be begging for GGG v kovalev at 175. and trip G will beat him ending his career as we've known it. the stories I heard of them two sparring is scary, and very high level.. no holding back. GGG did say whenever he sparred kov he would have massive headaches for days following. I think both teams know they wouldn't ever be the same after they fought with smaller gloves and no head gear. quick ko would be best possible outcome, severe beatings from both is what would happen and i'm not looking forward to them being pushed into a fight. which is going to eventually happen.. no one is happy until the undefeated gets defeated no matter how it happens. fight way out of your weight class to prove to these idiot fans you're not a "fraud" that word is pathetic and doesn't belong attacked to ANYONE in combat sports
+1 He needs to beat a few more top middleweights like Lemieux, Quillin, N'Dam plus a slick southpaw like Lara, and then we could make a conclusion if he is on Hagler's level. Beating Ward at 168 would bring him on that level right away.
We have no idea just how good this guy may be until one of the elite names will step in the ring with him. His trainer says he hasn't even had to use all of his arcenal(Had to use a C instead of S) yet, and is only throwing his shots at 75% of what he is capable of! That is scary..
