Both sides don't really want this fight, as it is extremely risky, and they want to keep their zeroes in the "L" column. Edit: At 164, GGG is a clear favorite which is why Ward will never accept it. At 168, see above.
I just said if he thinks he can then so be it. I don't have an agenda, I'm a fan of both guys. I just don't like Golovkin wanting 168 for others but 164 for Ward then using "we're unifying 160" as an excuse when it doesn't add up with his actions. Golovkin isn't accepting Ward's offers and Ward isn't accepting Golovkin's offers. Difference is Golovkin isn't being consistent.
This. I have no problem with Golovkin unifying either but he's making offers Ward will refuse to save face. He's not scared, just doesn't fit his plans at the moment.
1. A or B side, fact is, the weight has to do with an advantage, not money, you said it yourself. Fighting Ward at a catch weight reduces the risk. And they're not taking that risk for the money. Clear as day, nothing wrong with that, either. 2. Mayweather is irrelevant to this discussion. 3. Ward is not going to 160, that was not a serious offer. Too far fetched to be taken seriously. 4. Ward hasn't ducked Kovalev because he hasn't been fighting or negotiating with LHW's. If he was willing to fight Stevenson at 175 because it makes him more money than fighting Kovalev at 175, then it's a duck. 5. Using the A side argument to impose stipulations is ridiculous. Like "I'm a impose a catchweight because I can". No strategic reasoning behind it.
