Murray was most definitely robbed against Abraham. How you win rounds by landing two punches a round is beyond me.

 

If anything Murray's performances against Abraham and Groves raise Golovkins stock.. As he completely dominated and stopped him and Abraham and Groves struggled with him.

 

Constantly going out of your way to make threads bashing the guy says otherwise. That's not constructive criticism. That shows you don't like him

 

I'm still confused as to what this fight has to do with GGG? jury's still out for gennady but he's been doing well. I can't support bashing the guy, don't let his over zealous delusional fanatics cloud your judgement. I believe he's the goods he just hasent had the opportunity to truly solidify his hype....it will come.

 

But the delusional GGG fans are so damn annoying. Good post though.

 

It may or may not ever come, I read a thread on another site which raises something quite interesting. GGG is a bigger star and has bigger gate/viewer numbers, and yet his fight purses are in the 3 million range, where as Wilder and Povetkin had a 7 million dollar purse.

There is no way Wilder should be in fights with bigger purses than GGG, GGG has bigger numbers. Yet somehow that's all that's offered, if his purses were bigger I'm sure more fighters would be willing to take the risk of fighting him. This could be related to K2 or something else I'm missing, but something just doesn't add up and is definitely something that will decrease his chances to get quality opponents in the ring.

This. Murray is top 10 MW post 2000 era. Murray was at the same level as these three champions at the time he fought them. Groves is strong and much bigger than him, so it wasn´t a surprise when he lost. Murray is a good fighter, but he doesn´t have the hype behind him like some other belt holders.

what does it matter how ward got opponents? ward entered a tournament knowing he could have to face any of the fighters involved.....he didn't blindly enter a tournament where he had no idea who was in it and just got lucky froch and Kessler showed up
