All this talk about Golovkin, and is he the real deal or is he hype - I just want to say that, everything else aside, GGG's jab alone will give most fighters hell. It's one of the best jabs in the sport - very hard and accurate.

As long as Golovkin keeps that jab pumping, he will give hell to basically all "regular" fighters. By regular fighters, I mean pretty much everyone who doesn't have the movement and reflexes of a prime Sergio Martinez or, say, Bernard Hopkins.

To the Golovkin doubters, how do you see the current top MWs dealing with dat jab?

LOL, that's what everyone said about Kessler. Yet, when Kessler faced Ward his jab was completely shut down. Ward's jab is as good as GGG's straight right. Ward uses his jab to discombobulate his opponent to get inside.
A prime Roy Jones's jab was three times as quick and as powerful as GGG's. Jones would have hit GGG with every jab he threw.
If you want to evenly compare GGG's jab with someone equal, then look at Kessler or Felex Strumm's jab.

Who is everyone? I don't remember this at all, which makes sense because Kessler is a robot and his jab is nowhere near as good as Golovkin's.

I remember Abraham buckling Ward's legs with a jab. I suspect Golovkin can do the same and better...

Rosado said getting hit with GGG's jab was like getting hit with a bat on the forehead

He knocked down Adama with a jab in the first round of their fight. (And no Adama was not off balance.)

Kessler's jab in his prime was a thing of ****ing beauty, if you want to argue that his overall poise and style was 'robotic' before hooking up with Montoya then fair enough but that has ****-all to do with his jab, which ranked among the best in the sport in those days along with Sturm, Dzinziruk, and just a select few others.

Just because during his prime he wasn't as versatile as someone like a Golovkin doesn't mean he wasn't very good at the fewer things he actually was good at.

Golovkin has a quality jab but no, I wouldn't put it above Kessler's. (although he does have a more expansive all-around skill-set...)

Curtis Stevens knocked down Patrick Majewski pretty badly with the first jab he threw in the first round. Then proceeded to knock him down two more times in the same round. And Golovkin pretty much walked through everything that kid threw at him. So along with this thread titled Golovkin's jab. We should too focus on Golovkin's chin. Both are made out of IRON

Its a serious jab. A step in power jab. One of the best in boxing.

Ward also has an excellent jab since he's a converted leftie and probably has more pop on it than his right hand.

At SMW if they ever fight , Wards jab will be more effective.
